I realised I let myself fall into his trap of making him feel like he's in control. I was warned about the devil with red horns, but never the one with the emerald eyes and a heartbeat. He dragged me harshly down towards the reception. The anxiousness I felt, never once left. I hated it. I strongly disliked him, but I would never profess such a thing out loud.

As we approached the reception desk I spotted Mary. She looked tired, sad, this was a drastic change compared to her usual happy self. I didn't understand her sadness for it was me that would suffer for my wrong doings.

"Maisy, her name is Maisy, sir."

Mary spoke in fear. Sir? Why would she refer to him as sir, he was younger than her, what ever happened to respect your elders. He was a man I was merely a girl, it didn't add up as to what he would want with me. My stomach churned at the thought of what he could do to me.

"Ah Maisy, see that wasn't so hard was it, Maisy."

He emphasised on my name. Using it multiple times. Using it as if it were a deathly weapon. The harshness of his tone made me shake in fear. My palms grew sweaty, I could feel an attack coming on. I could feel the tears welling up in my eyes. I looked at him his mouth was moving, his jaw clenched. He was angry, the only emotion he seemed to know. As far as I saw, it was him. I was so fixated on him that I only caught her mouth moving in the corner of my eye, but I couldn't hear anything. He held his ears and pointed to me. He was shouting. Why? I didn't know. My ears were ringing, my throat sore. I was screaming. He lost his grip on me to hold his ears. I took this as an opportunity, to run. My feet stayed in place. I was no longer in control. I couldn't hear anything only ringing and all I felt was moisture on my cheeks and a stinging sensation in my throat. Mary approached me after he had directed his anger towards her. She went to grab me but I flinched and backed away. Her mouth was moving but I couldn't process what she was saying. Eventually I seen security come in and try to grab me. I screamed louder if possible. I didn't want this. Mary stood in front of me but he forcefully shoved her out of the way. I stopped screaming. I felt anger towards him. Strong anger. Who the hell did he think he was. I lurched forward freeing myself from the security's grip. I latched onto his shirt. He was shocked to say the least but I didn't care at this point. I was so angry. I wanted to inflict so much damage on him.

The secretary was quick to his side. She started to pull at my waist but I refused to let go. She was shouting at security, I presumed, but they simply stood frozen. She then proceeded to grab my long hair and yank on it. He was merely in shock but quickly recovered when he heard the sound of her hand come in contact with my cheek. My entire face lurched in one direction and my grip fell from him. The stinging sensation in my cheek only grew stronger as I was hauled to my feet. He forcefully grabbed my chin and forced my face in his direction. He looked almost like he was examining it. The secretary looked smug, she was delighted with herself, she looked so satisfied.

"Did I ask you to touch her, let alone hit her?"

The smugness was wiped straight off of her face, she looked scared, I almost pitied her, almost, not quite. She simply put her head down.

" I didn't quite hear you."

He held such authority, who the hell was this man? He held such importance, even when it came to the simplest of things.

"No, sir."

His arm stayed placed around my waist all through this encounter. I was so confused as to what was happening. Terrified as to what could happen. Again with the sir. I was so confused, I didn't understand. Who gave him the right to speak to people like that. He beckoned Mary over.
