My face scrunched up from the throbbing pain.

"I'll make arrangements with the admin so you can stay with me for the rest of the day." Nicholas hurried to help me.

The constant cramping pain in my lower abdomen started to die down just from his presence. As if his scent was some sort of medicinal herb.

Even the heat pulsing throughout my body became bearable.

I only blinked at Nicholas as he brushed my hair to the side. His fingers grazing my skin as he lifted up the necklace he had given me, quietly admiring it himself.

There was this strange shyness I felt.

It was almost awkward to show him any affection after everything that was uncovered. My mind knew that it should be angry at him for what he's done, but the matebond made it nearly impossible to push him away.

With this heat mixed into everything, it might as well be impossible.

This heat cycle meant that if I wanted to go through the days without wanting to throw myself down the stairs just to relieve myself of this torment, I would have be stuck at Nicholas's side.

Nicholas began making his way to the door but before he could get far, I called out his name. His head turned around in slight concern.

He raised an eyebrow as he walked back with a small grin. "I'm not going to the front office myself, Thomas is just outside the door." He explained with an amused grin.

I pushed myself off the bed, using Nicholas's hand for support as I got back on my feet. "I still want to go to my classes." I raise my head to him and bit my bottom lip as I waited for his response.

My business teacher, Mrs Lebouf, had gotten to my head with all her snarky comments about my attendance. Although I think it was more effective this time since she decided to say it in front of Vivienne, the all realm princess.

Nicholas let out a puff of air, shaking his head in disbelief before smiling in wonder for a silent minute.

"The one time you want to stay in class." He scoffed in humour. "Do you want me to fight every man on campus?" He questioned playfully while leading me out the room.

Outside was Thomas leaning against the wall, drinking from a flask.

"Is that the.." I trailed off as my eyes glued onto the flask. But I caught Thomas's attention, his head turning to me in surprise.

"No it's liquor." He tilted the object, I took a whiff and this time it actually had the scent of alcohol.

I narrowed my eyes at him. "What reason do you have to be day drinking at school?" Pretending to judge as I at look him up and down.

"Lea's upset so naturally I am too." Thomas sighed in response. "Which brings me to my point, listen Athena about the game.."

I took a sharp intake of air, trying to keep myself composed. Everytime this game was mentioned, I suddenly feel like I'm back at my pack as a younger teenage version.

No, this sort of situation was never new to me.

The only thing different was that I genuinely thought of the lycans as my friends. But to be betrayed the same way, it just feels like I have no choice but to live like this pathetic little girl forever.

"I want to apologise for what I've done on my part." He turned to me with a genuine look. "I should've listened to Lea and stepped back. The game was an immature challenge we created for our foolish entertainment but it became our all karma once we realised what you meant to all of us."
