My head fell into my hands.

I tried to muffle my groan since class was still on going but I was so genuinely tired from stressing about the stupid birthday party.

I partially blame Lealani.

If she hadn't said anything about my chances of being mated to Nicholas then I wouldn't be so worried. I'd still be a little worried but not as much as I am now.

"Boy problems?" Lylia leaned over, she joined our class since her class had been dismissed. "I know that look too well."

I shook my head despite her being correct. "I have to go to some stupid party." I mumbled, pushing my hair back.

"It's not some stupid party Athena. You're lucky you even get to go." Chloe tells me.

"Are we lucky? Are we really?" Azula comments.

"How did you know-"

"Everyone knows it's Nicholas's day. I mean it's his eighteenth birthday, you know people are dying to know if he's mated to Niña or some other girl. Because of that, the guest list is hard to get onto." Lylia states.

I wasn't exactly in the mood to hear anything else about Nicholas so I decided to sleep for the rest of the class.

Unfortunately, school ended a lot quicker than I wanted it to.

I was dreading everything so badly.

The girls offered to drop me off at Altheo's since that's where I had to go to get my dress for the party. In fact they insisted just so they could get a glimpse of his place. Theo's guards had to escort them away.

"Your dress is waiting for you upstairs." Altheo says with a little too much enthusiasm for my liking.

He led the way to a guest room.

In there was a rack with a dress hanged up. It was red with hints of gold material and a bit revealing.

"I'm going to change too, I'll be back in a few minutes."

I tried my best to figure out how to put the dress on without ripping anything.

On the bathroom counter was a spread of various jewellery. As I was putting on these drooping diamond earrings, I noticed Altheo in a tuxedo, leaning against the door frame in the mirror.

I almost dropped the earrings the way I jolted.

"I didn't even hear you walk in."

"That's because I sneaked in." He emphasises, I roll my eyes before pushing him out of the bathroom, shutting the door.

Once I had everything ready, I walked out. Seeing Altheo waiting on the bed without his suit jacket on. His eyes laid on me for a moment, quickly shaking his head before shuffling to sit on the side of the bed.

"What?" I ask.

He extends out his hand, I let my hand fall into his, he pulls me closer to him. I stood in between his legs as he looked up at me in silence.

"You're breathtaking, you know that?" He states.

"How many times have you used that line on other girls?" I say, rolling my eyes.

I bit my tongue, regretting that remark.

"The other girls can't possibly compare to my pretty girl." He ignores the question, his eyes scanning my face for any signs of a reaction to his charm.
