Summary Of Idea: After Kai comes back alive a heretic, he senses that the twins are still alive inside Caroline. This story basically involves Kai deciding not to off the twins and kidnaps the newly pregnant Caroline.
Kai could originally planned on killing the twins, so he kidnaps Caroline, but eventually decides against it. One thing to note is that Kai didn't lose the emotions he gained from Luke when he turned, so that could stop him from killing Caroline right off the bat.
He might also feel some guilt from killing his twin, which makes him hesitate on killing the twins. Also, whether he plans to kill Caroline, or even, the twins after their born, a deciding factor could be him realizing the twins are siphoners. Especially since they showed they could siphon from the womb.
