Most of the trip back to the cabin was silent. Whether Dream was hesitating to say anything or he just didn't want to, I don't know. I am not sure anything he could've said would help.
As we reached the cabin all I wanted to do was go in bed and cry. I was slowly being consumed by emotions of immense sadness of losing Tommy and anger at what he said to me.
We reached the front door and I opened it and plopped right on to the comforting mattress.
I tried my best not to think about the previous events because I knew if I did the tears would flow down my face like a raging current.
I didn't want Dream to see or hear me cry again.
"(Y/n), he was on edge already with being thrown out of his country I don't think-"
"No," I say, cutting off his sentence, "Don't make excuses for him and don't act like this isn't exactly what you wanted. Now I am all yours."
I rolled over so my face was facing the wall instead of the tall man that was standing there.
"No (Y/n) all I wanted was for you to be happy again. Even if you thought you deserved a coward of a guy like him," he pauses before continuing, "If you being with him would've made you happy, then I would have let you go."
"Doesn't matter because now I have nothing. You asked me once to tell you what to do when you loved nothing, now you need to tell me. What do I do when I have nothing left to love?"
I was still looking towards the wall so he wouldn't have to see the sudden pools of water form on my face. Everyone has betrayed me and left me. They use me when they want me and then dump me when they are bored.
Tommy looked at me like he despised me. My life has fallen apart and the only thing filling the void is the vengeance I desire. I want to burn L'Manburg, the two-faced country of lies. I want to burn the cottage, the one that embodies everything I used to be. And I want to burn the flower field, the only place I have ever felt free which now just reminds me of memories with the guy I can't have.
Tears were now coming down harder and it was getting difficult to control my breathing. My world has officially crashed down on me because I no longer have hope. I can't hope for a life that doesn't exist.
I felt as a body sinks the other side of the bed down. I turn my body to face the man sitting next to me.
"Go away." I said hiccuping amidst my crying.
"No, I am not leaving you, I am not Tommy."
He isn't, he has always been here despite all the cruel things I have said to him. I told him I didn't love him and he stayed. When I did that to Tommy he left in a span of minutes.
I think Dream is the only one in this world that knows loneliness like I do. We are both so alone.
I fully turn my body over and put my head on his chest. He wraps his right hand around my body pulling me closer. The heat of his body was the only comforting thing I had right now. I don't have any comfort in the future or what will become of me.
I cried over and over until I was too exhausted to cry anymore. I felt every blink get harder and harder to accomplish. He slowly traced patterns on my arm which contributed more to my tiredness.
The darkness soon took over and Dream was right.
It didn't matter how long I was there in his arms crying for a different boy, he stayed. He is the only person that hasn't left me.
