KILLER EYES

CHAPTER 1

I woke up this morning same as everyday, I put on my uniform. To be honest I hate my uniform, it's too short. I threw my books in my bag and added a couple of things I needed. As soon as I was done I walked downstairs to where my mom greeted me.

„ Good morning" she said with a loving smile.

„ Morning" I answered unbothered.

„ I made you breakfast, I hope you like it"

I live alone with my mom, my dad left us when I was really young so I don't have any siblings. My mom works three jobs so she is always busy, but I'm used to being alone. I sat down at the table and started eating my breakfast. My mom was always a good cook so I wasn't complaining.

I turned on the TV since I still had a lot of time before I had to leave for school.

„ Another dead body was found near the lake on Hudson's street, we are asking people to be careful and avoid going home alone at night" said the reporter on the morning news.

They found another body...that is the third one this month. I never really paid attention to it, but now I am thinking I should be more careful.

My appetite quickly faded after this information, so I cleaned up and decided to leave.

On the way to school I met up with Jasper, he is one of the people that plays a big role in my life. We have been best friends since childhood.

A lot of people think we are siblings or even twins since we look freakishly alike. Jasper is tall with light brown hair that fell just above his ears. His eyes are blue, they remind me of the ocean. His smile is so contagious that every time he smiles I have to smile as well. We spend a lot of time together, he means a lot to me, like a brother I never had.

„Good morning princess" he smiled.

This is exactly what I needed. His smile that forced me to smile as well.

„Good morning to you too Jay" I hugged him.

„Let's go, we will be late"

It was the last period, specifically math. I was writing down the notes from last week, when suddenly Rebecca appeared in front of our desk.

How do I describe her, a bitch maybe? You could say this name suited her the best. She lives in a fantasy where Jasper is in love with her and that he would do anything for her. The truth is Jasper despises her but he is too nice to say anything.

„Hi Jasper, there's 15 minutes until the lesson starts and I don't have the math homework could I copy it of off you?" She said sarcastically with a fake smile.

Jasper awkwardly laughed and didn't know what to say. This isn't the first time that she has come here for the purpose of copying the homework.

„You can always say no" I said with a cold tone, still looking at the notes I was writing.

„Nobody asked you Alexandria!" She said with a stuck up tone and a high pitched voice.

„So Jasper? Can I copy the homework or not? I don't have a lot of time."

I could see how unwillingly he gave her the homework.

„Thank you very much." She said, walking away in her heels to her desk.

I feel as though only dumb people are in this class apart from Jasper and I. Unlike them we know what 4+4 is. People often call us nerds because of how good our grades are. You could say we are the best in our class.

Half of the class consisted of spoiled popular girls who always get good grades by sleeping with the teachers. The other half are stuck up Jocks who don't have much of a brain. You could say this class is perfect right?

„Don't be angry Ria, it's only homework." He smiled at me.

„You have to learn how to say no Jay or soon it's not going to end well." I said with a worried voice.

„Only If you teach me" he smiled at me as I smiled back.

School had ended and the students were soon leaving the main building of the school.

„So I'll see you tomorrow right?" he said with a happy look on his face.

I nodded my head.

„Don't you want me to walk you home? Because of those killings that have been happening lately. Who knows what kind of psychopath is walking around here" He said with a worried look on his face. He has always been very protective of me.

„I have to go to work, I need money so I can pay for this expensive school''

We laughed.

„Be careful okay?"

I nodded my head as we both hugged each other and headed in different directions.

If you're wondering what job I have...I work in a pancake shop. It's close to my school so I don't have to drive there. The pay is quite good so I'm not complaining. The school I go to is very expensive, my mom can't pay for it on her own so I help out as much as I can. I didn't want to go to a different high school because that would've meant no Jasper. I can't live without him. We have been inseparable since we were kids.

I changed into my work clothes and stood behind the till. I took one look at the pancakes and my stomach started churning. I hate sweets but i work here anyway...how ironic.

A few hours passed and we were closing soon. All the other workers had already left. It was cold and dark outside. I cleaned up and changed back into my school uniform. I packed my stuff and was ready to go home. I turned off all the lights and walked outside.

In that moment I saw something I should've never seen.

A person falling to the ground with a slit throat and all I could see in his eyes were tears and pain. I froze and couldn't move an inch of my body. I tried to scream for help, but nothing came out. Tears started forming in my eyes and my vision went blurry. I never imagined myself in this kind of situation.

I should've never seen what I saw. A man standing above the body. He was tall with black hair and dark brown eyes that sparkled under the moonlight. His face and body were covered in blood with a knife in his hands.

He just stared at me with a smirk on his face, it's as if he didn't care what he just did. In my mind there was only one thought, it was that I'm not making it out of here alive.
