Today was Merediths discharge day. She woke up early and nudged Derek, who was sleeping next to her. "Wake up." Meredith whispered as she pressed a kiss to his jawline. Derek groaned sometning incoherent. "Wake up." Meredith repeated as she kissed his cheek. Dereks eyes opened slowly and he smiled. "S'nice way to wake up." He said sleepily.

"I get to go home today." Meredith said excitedly. "Yes you do." Derek said with a small smile. He was still worried sick about her being away from the hospital, but he took a few weeks off and would be with her and the kids the whole time. "Grey." Bailey said as she came into the room. "Bailey." Meredith said. "Ready to go home?" She asked. "Uh, yes." Meredith said with a chuckle. "Sign these and you're free to go." Bailey said as she handed her over a clipboard.

She messily scribbled her signature on each piece of paper and handed it back to Bailey. "Thanks Grey. Take it easy, and keep the bun in the Oven nixe and safe. I don't want to see you back here for at least 2 weeks working." Bailey said before leaving. "Thanks Bailey." Derek said. She smiled and left.

"I want to go home now please." Meredith said. "Okay." Derek replied. He helped her out of the bed and into the chair. She held her crutches on her lap on the way down and was very anxious to get home. "Where are the kids?" Meredith asked. "They're with Amy and Owen at home." Derek replied. "Okay." Meredith said.

They got out to the car and Derek helped Meredith into the car. Once they were settled, Derek got into the car and started the drive. "Where's your family?" Meredith asked. "I think they're hanging out at the hotel for now. They will probably want to come over tomorrow. I can tell them to go home if you want." Derek replied. "No, it's okay. The kids should know their aunts and grandma." Meredith replied. At a red light, Derek leaned over the console and kissed her lips. "I love you." He said. "I love you too." Meredith replied. He placed his hand on her thigh and kept driving.

When they pulled up to the dream house, Derek got out and went around to Merediths side. He opened the door for her and wrapped his arm around her waist to help her out. She grabbed her crutches and slowly made her way up to the door with Derek close by.

"Welcome home." Derek said as he opened the door. Meredith smiled when she saw a banner that said 'Welcome home' hung and saw her kids running to her. "Mama!" They exclaimed. "Hi guys!" Meredith said. Derek helped Meredith sit down on the couch and the kids surrounded her. "Mama, what on your leg?" Bailey asked curiously. "It's called a brace." Meredith responded. "What it for?" Zola asked. "Mommy got an owie on her leg. It helps stabilize it." Meredith explained. "Ohhh." The kids said.

"Hey Mer!" Amelia said as she sat down next to her. "Hi Amy! Thanks for doing this." Meredith replied with a smile. "It was dereks idea. And Owen did most of it. I didn't do anything!" Amelia laughed. "Well, thanks for watching the kids. And thank you Owen for doing this." Meredith said with a smile. She was so grateful to be home. And alive. That's good too. "You feel good Grey? Did we patch you up alright?" Owen asked. "I feel good. You guys did a great job." Meredith said with a giggle.

"Aside from Nelson." Derek scoffed. Meredith looked at him and rolled her eyes but let it go. "Richards working on that Derek." Owen said. "I know." Derek replied shortly. "I'm hungry." Meredith complained. "What do you want to eat? Pasta, sandwich." Derek trailed off. "Can I have a turkey and cheese sandwich with Cheetos in it?" Meredith asked sweetly. "Baby?" Derek guessed with a smile. Meredith blushed slightly and nodded. "Mer, do you want another girl or boy?" Amelia asked. "I domt care. I just want it to be healthy." Meredith replied. "What about you Derek?" Owen asked. "Me too. As long as she or he is healthy." Derek answered as he made the sandwich.

"Well, we gotta get to work. I'm staying at the trailer with Owen so I'll see you guys later. Be careful Mer." Amelia warned as she gave a hug. They said goodbye and Derek gave Meredith her sandwich.

They sat on the couch with Merediths leg propped up and Bailey curled under his mother's arm and Zola snuggled against Derek. "I can't believe I almost lost all of this a few weeks ago." Meredith sighed as she put a hand on her belly. "I know." Derek whispered. He placed his hand over hers. "You know, when the baby was conceived, that was probably the night you came home after our fight." Meredith pointed out. "We resolved the problem, and now we made a baby. The baby was made during a night full of love, just like Bailey was." Derek said softly. "I love you so much Derek." Meredith said as she rested her head on his shoulder. Derek pulled her closer and savored the moment of being cuddled up with his family. "I love you too Mer." Derek replied.

He kissed the side of her head and sighed. "I'm glad you're okay." He whispered. "Me too Der. Me too." Meredith said. "When I'm better we are having a lot of sex because These hormones are out of control." Meredith whispered into his ear so the kids wouldn't hear. He could feel her hot breath on his neck and shivers ran down his spine. "Sounds good to me." Derek replied.  He kissed her passionately. "There's babies on the couch." Meredith pointed out. "I know." Derek said with a chuckle.

They pulled away and Derek craned his neck down a little bit. "I love you baby." He whispered as he kissed her stomach.

That night, they spent it as a family. Cuddling on the couch and feeling gracious that everyone was alive and well.
