35 weeks. Meredith was officially on maternity leave, dubbed too pregnant to iWork anymore. Derek was limiting his hours, but he still had to work.

On Merediths first day of leave however, he got the day off, knowing that Meredith would be bored. Derek desperately tried to time off, but due to Dr Nelson's leave of absence, he had to take the workload. Derek did not want to leave Meredith alone at home 35 weeks pregnant.

Derek woke up at 7 to baileys cries. He quickly walked into his room as to not wake up Zola, and lifted his son into his arms. "Daddy." Bailey mumbled into his neck. "Good morning bails." Derek whispered. "Hungry." Bailey said. Derek chuckled. Bailey was definitely Merediths son. "Let's get you some food then." Derek replied as they walked out together.

Derek made Bailey some waffles and himself a bowl of muesli and they ate together while watching Paw Patrol. Zola came down about an hour later and smiled when she saw her father and brother. "Hi zo!" Derek exclaimed as he picked her up and gave her a kiss on the forehead. "Hi daddy." Zola replied with a smile. Derek put a plate of waffles out for her and the three enjoyed their breakfast.

Meredith woke up to happy giggles and waddled downstairs. She smiled when she saw Bailey, Zola, and Derek all curled up on the couch watching Paw Patrol. Dereks eyes lit up when he saw his wife and smiled. "Good morning." He said. "Mama!" Zola and Bailey squealed. Meredith smiled and sat down next to Derek. "Morning." She replied. Bailey and Zola scattered over to her and cuddled up with her.

"How are we this morning?" She asked. "Good mama. Daddy maked is waffles." Zola said with a giggle. "He did?" Meredith asked in fake shock as she looked at the kids. Bailey nodded furiously and he hugged his mother close. "How you feeling?" Derek asked. "I love being pregnant, but she needs to come out." Meredith replied with a laugh. Derek smiled sympathetically and put a hand on her thigh.

Derek knew Meredith must be exhausted. Even not working, being 35 weeks pregnant was exhausting. But Derek would do everything he could to make her comfortable while he could.

"Work today?" Bailey asked. "Mama is going to be working for a while. Daddy isn't working today but he will be." Meredith replied. "Mama no work?" Bailey asked with wide hopeful eyes. "No work. Baby sisters coming soon and mama has to rest. So we have to be extra nice to her." Derek said seriously. "We'll be so good!" Zola exclaimed. "Yeah!" Bailey parroted in agreement. Meredith laughed at her kids and husbands antics.

"You want to eat?" Derek asked. "I'm not getting up, so I'm okay for now." Meredith replied with a giggle. "Okay. Let me know when your hungry." Derek said as he kissed her softly until a small hand reached up and pushed dereks face away. "No kiss." Bailey said as he cuddled into Merediths chest. Derek laughed and relaxed into the couch with Zola on his lap.

"I don't know what I'm going to do these next few weeks." Meredith said. "Well, these kiddos are going to be super good, and you are going to relax and take it easy." Derek said. "I don't do that very well." Meredith muttered. "I know. I'll be here when I can, but I still have to work." Derek replied. "I know. I'll be okay." Meredith said as she rested her head on his shoulder.

A little while later, Meredith got hungry. It was around noon. Derek insisted that she sat down and he made her lunch, which consisted of  a grilled cheese (per her request) and a water. Derek made the kids grilled cheeses too. "Zo, bails, you want hear a story?" Derek asked as he remembered sometning. The kids nodded. "After your mamas accident, mama thought she was a cat." Derek said, causing Merediths brow to furrow in confusion.

The kids giggled and smiled. "Why?" Zola asked. "Mama was on some pain meds and they made her silly. You remember that Mer?" Derek asked. "No." Meredith said as she blushed. "That's silly mama." Bailey laughed.

They ate their lunch and talked for a while. "We go ferryboat?" Zola asked. "You want go on the ferryboat again?" Derek asked with a laugh. The kids nodded. Derek looked at Meredith who nodded.

A half an hour later, Meredith, Derek, and the kids were all on the ferryboat. Meredith sat down on the bench while she watched her husband and kids look out at the water. "Mama look!" Zola exclaimed. Meredith stood up and walked over to the rail. "Whale!" Bailey yelled as he pointed to the water. "That's so cool bails!" Meredith exclaimed.

When they got home, Meredith was exhausted, as were the kids. They had decided to go out to dinner after the ferryboat ride, so they were all full and tired. Derek carried both kids upstairs and kissed them goodnight while Meredith got ready for bed in their own bedroom.

Derek entered their room and found Meredith snoring away. He chuckled softly to himself and quickly got himself ready for bed. He slipped in beside Meredith and wrapped an arm around her huge belly. "I love you." He whispered as he pressed a kiss to her neck.
