Chapter Eight

I didn't want to head back into the dojo, so I decided to take a walk around the mini mall to clear my head. It didn't help ease my mind those, but it did help pass the time. I saw everyone heading out of the dojo for the night. It was time to confront my dad, before I could enter the dojo, I was stopped by Miguel who grabbed my arm.

"Are you ok?" He asked.

"I'm fine, I can't say the same for Eli though."

"He'll get through it, he always does"

"I've never seen him this upset before"

"Relax, everything's gonna be ok" he said as he pulled me into a hug.

"Thanks Miguel"

"Anytime"

After we let go of each other and I started to head into the dojo.

"Are we you coming to the dojo tomorrow night?" He asked

"I can't, I have to teach a ballet class"

"Oh ok, I'll see you around, Blair"

"Bye" I said as I walked inside, ready to face my dad who was sitting in his office.

He was getting himself another beer and didn't even notice it was me when I knocked on the door.

"Go away, no more lessons for today"

"Did you have to be so hard on him?"

"Shit- Blair, I am so sorry about today. I had not idea that you liked him-"

"That shouldn't have to do with anything"

"Oh come on, they're a bunch losers."

"They're my friends!" I sighed, "you wanted a full dojo and you got one"

"Not full like that" he said as he sat down at his desk.

"Yeah I get it, they're losers, so am I"

"No you're not and why is you're hair wet? What, did you and Eli have sex in the shower before you came here?"

"Ew dad stop. You know what, never mind. I'll see you at home."

"How are you getting home?"

"I'm pretty sure Miguel is still outside, I'll just catch a ride with him." I said as I walked out.

When I walked back out to the dojo, I found Mr. LaRusso coming in.

"Oh hey, Mr. LaRusso, what are you doing here?"

"Hey Blair, is your dad around, I was wondering if I could talk to him?"

"Yeah he's-" before I could finish, my dad came out.

"Blair, did you mention the LaRusso's- what the hell are you doing here" he said as he made eye contact with Mr. LaRusso.

"Somethings never change" Daniel said.

"What the hell is that supposed to mean?"

"I heard Cobra Kai was reopened, I wanted to see if it was true. Sadly it is"

My dad rolled his eyes.

"Look I'm not here to rehash the past, ok? Just watch yourself. Oh and before I forget, here Blair, you left this at my house" Daniel said as he handed my my student ID. I was so busted now.

"Wait what the fuck were you doing at his house?" My dad asked.

"I thought she told you, she came by to see Robby"

"Wait Robby's there too?!"

They both looked to me.

"I'm sorry dad, I can explain. You were just so happy, I didn't want you to worry about this."

"So you thought it would be better to sneak around behind my back?"

"I just wanted to get Robby back"

He sighed and turned back to Daniel.

"What the fuck is my kid doing at your house"

"Look I didn't even know you were his dad until last night. I just wanted to help the kid"

I felt horrible for not telling the truth. Now I was just creating a bigger problem. As their conversation continued, Miguel entered the dojo.

"Hey Sensei, I was wondering if you needed any help closing up for the night?" He asked as he realized the intimidating conversation that was going on.

"Sensei? Really?" Daniel said.

"You got a problem with it?" My dad replied.

"Several"

"Can we please not fight about this. It's late, I'm sure we can come up with a more civil way to go about this" I say.

They both sighed.

"You and I- This, we aren't done" Daniel said as he left the dojo.

I realized that Miguel was still awkwardly standing by the front door.

"I'm sorry I interrupted Sensei, should I do 20 knuckle pushups?"

"Ha! Like you could" my dad laughed.

I quickly grabbed Miguel's arm and started to walk out of the dojo.

"Where do you think you're going, you have a shit tone of explaining to do" he ordered.

"What do you want me to tell you, you already know as much as I do. He hates us, he's not coming home" I explained as I headed out to the parking lot with Miguel.
