Today was the day of the Festival. I had absolutely no fate in my plan. In the end, I would have to explain to my dad that I joined Miyagi-Do and I would have to explain to Mr. LaRusso I never left Cobra Kai. Shit.

I spent more time thinking of how I would end up explaining myself, rather than fixing my plan. The goal was to perform with Sam and Robby for the first half and then sneak out the back while Mr. LaRusso prepared for his final trick. I would get changed and meet up with Miguel and Eli who would be coming around that back at that time. I would do my best to keep my head down as much as possible.

-

When nighttime fell, we all made our way to the festival. We were all ready and were only waiting to begin.

"Coming up next, do I have a treat for you. Please direct your attention to the LaRusso Auto booth for a presentation from Miyagi-Do Karate." The announcer explained.

The crowd made there way over to us as we began the combo. We started off simple by practicing our balance and breathing. Mr. LaRusso stood in front of me for a bit while Sam and Robby stood beside me in a rhombus shape. When the combination came to a slight pause, people applauded. I didn't see my dad or Kreese in the audience, thank god.

We then bowed and Mr. LaRusso prepared his bamboo stick. He went up to Sam first and she blocked every move. Next up was Robby, he did some weird roll thingy that left the audience stunned. He then moved onto me and I blocked every move and threw in a few kicks myself, taking control of the bamboo stick. Mr. LaRusso gave me a nod of approval. This made me feel happy inside. I had gained the approval of a new teacher and maybe even a new father figure.

We bowed once again to conclude our portion of the act. Now it was time for the grand finale. I ran offstage to get changed out of my Miyagi-Do Gi into my Cobra Kai Gi.

When I finished getting changed, I started to head over to the Cobra Kai group that was hiding in the distance.

It was too late to turn back, the Cobra Kai students would soon be making their entrance.

I made my way over to Miguel and Eli and stood in between them.

"Took you long enough, where were you?" Miguel asked.

"Uh-"

Thankfully I didn't have to answer. The power was soon cut and the audience was left in confusion. Mr. LaRusso stood onstage with blocks of ice and began to look around.

"Cobra Kai!" We all yelled out.

We all started to run onto the stage in perfect unison and continued to chant 'Cobra Kai!'

Soon, loud rock music started to play and lasers began to flash. The crowed followed behind us as we made our way to the stage.

When we made our way onto the stage, I looked over at my dad who flashed me a smile and also a confused look. What was wrong?

We all hit our first position and started the combo. We were all perfectly in sync. I will say that it was much more action packed than the Miyagi-Do performance.

"Cobras, show them what real karate looks like!" My dad yelled.

Miguel and Eli paired up with their partners and began to fight as I made my way over to my dad on the side.

"Hey" I smiled.

He didn't even look at me. He couldn't have seen me in the Miyagi-Do performance, I was too far back and he was no where in sight. What was wrong? I couldn't have already disappointed him.

"Yes!" He exclaimed as both Miguel and Eli won their matches.

The crowds cheering began to grow louder. I looked back to see Sam, Robby, and Mr. LaRusso looking back in disappointment and frustration. I felt horrible.

Aisha began to do her portion of the show, breaking every board while blindfolded. It was impressive. Eli made his way back to the stage and picked Demitri up from the crowd. How the fuck did he do it with one arm?! God it was hot. He made Demitri look like a sack of potatoes.

He handed him the board and Demitri positioned himself and also looked away in fear. Eli got a running start before doing his signature kick and breaking the board. My cheering was louder than ever.

That's when I realized, it was my turn. When I didn't budge, my dad pushed me out onto the center of the stage, if Mr. LaRusso didn't know about my secret beforehand, he sure does now. I gulped in fear before my first competitor came rushing towards me. I quickly blocked all of their moves and pinned them to the ground. I would soon do that to all of those who tried to face me, including Miguel and Eli. I managed to win against all of them and the crowd began to chant my name. This wasn't good. The rest of the dojo ran out onto stage and wrapped their arms around me. They began to throw merchandise into the crowd.

We dispersed from the stage when my dad prepared for his grand finale.

"Cobras, light it up!" He commanded.

Two students lit the cement before walking back to the sidelines.

With one punch, the cement broke instantly. The crowd was left in awe and began to chant 'Cobra Kai'. We all joined my dad on the stage in a line, standing proud. As I stood next to him, he couldn't even look at me and when I looked over to Eli and Miguel, they didn't either. What did I do wrong?! Where they were standing, they could have never seen me perform.

-

When the performance ended, I made my way over to my dad who was chatting with Kreese.

"Hey dad-"

"What do you want?"

He was in a really pissy mood.

"What's wrong?"

"Don't give me that bullshit, Blair" he said as he finally turned to face me.

"I don't know what you're talking about" I admit.

"Then explain this" he said as he ripped the bandana off my head. I had never taken off my Miyagi-Do bandana. Fuck.

"Dad, I-I can explain"

"Explain what? That you've been training with that prick LaRusso?"

"Dad- please don't be mad"

"I'm furious"

I started to choke on my tears.

"I did it to get Robby back, and I did"

"Then why are you still training with them?"

I didn't have an answer. I did, but he wouldn't like the response. In all reality, I enjoyed training at Miyagi-Do. I felt safe there. In the past few weeks that I've trained there, Mr.LaRusso acted like more of a father than my actual dad. He cared about his students, my dad cared about his Dojo.

He made eye contact with someone behind me and rolled his eyes, I knew who it was. When he saw that I wasn't going to answer he walked past me with Kreese.

"Dad please-"

He still ignored me.

I turned around to face Mr. LaRusso who was standing behind me.

"I'm so sorry" I cried. Tears poured out from my eyes and my stance became weak. Mr. LaRusso welcomed me into a hug. Surprisingly he wasn't mad at me, now that he understood the whole situation, he felt sorry for me.

"It's ok, we'll figure this out" he said as he patted my back, trying to get me to calm down.

Sam and Robby quickly made their way over to us.

"Blair- why didn't you tell me, I could've helped you" Sam said as she pulled me into a hug.

"I didn't know what to do" I choked.

I looked over to Robby who had a pissed expression on his face.

"Please don't be mad, Robby" I begged.

When he saw how broken I was, his expression quickly changed. He was actually concerned for me and wrapped his arms around me.

I didn't know what to do now.
