I couldn't sleep last night. All I could think about was Kreese's offer. What if when I went there my dad kicked me out? What if I didn't win?

As millions of thoughts raced through my head, the sun finally came into view. I had talked myself into going to Coyote Creek. I quickly got dressed and began my walk. It wasn't too far from the LaRusso's house. I made sure to leave a note for Mr. LaRusso explaining where I was. He had an important business meeting today, I didn't want to bug him on driving me anywhere. I already felt bad enough for keeping him up late because of my karate training with Kreese.

-

I soon found the rest of the group all lined up in their teams. No one had noticed me yet. My heart was racing with every step that I took. I was so overwhelmed, I hadn't even noticed the rock in front of me. I ended up tripping over it and falling. That caught everyone's attention.

"Shit-" Eli said as he rushed over to help me up.

"Thanks" I said as I brushed myself off.

I headed over to the group with Eli and kept my head down. My dad refused to make eye contact with me and gave a frustrated look to Kreese. He just laughed it off and gave me a smirk.

"Miss. Lawrence, you can be on the red team" he said as he handed me a bandana.

I quickly wrapped it around my head as my dad and Kreese began their big introduction statement.

"Gentlemen, ladies. Welcome to Coyote Creek. You've been split into two teams. Red and Black. The goal is to capture as many headbands as possible from the other side. Today, the people across from you are not your friends. They're not you're brothers. They are the enemy. Last team standing, wins." Kreese explained. We all stared each other down, getting an idea of what kind of a fight this was going to be. There were 7 people on each team. Hawk, Aisha, and I were the main focus of team red. Miguel and Tori were our biggest competition.

"How do we get the headbands?" Miguel asked.

"By any means possible. No rules" Kreese replied.

"Use your judgment. This is just a training exercise" My dad added.

"Correct, but remember, this is your life." Kreese said as he held up a headband. "You lose it, you die"

-

The training began. I had a few run-ins with the opposite team and won all of them. At the moment I had 2 headbands. Eventually, I ran into Eli.

"Hey" I smiled before embracing him in a hug.

"Hello beautiful"

"That's a new one" I laughed.

"Would you rather I call you princess?" He smirked

"Either or is fine, Hawk" I teased.

We walked around for a while, enjoying the peace and quit. Apparently, Eli had had a few run ins himself and he currently had 2 headbands as well.

"So, what happens at the end of this if it's just you and me?" Eli asked.

"I guess, I'll just have to rip that headband right off your head" I teased, slightly nudging him.

"Don't get too cocky sweetheart, who says I won't do the same to you?"

I bit my lip at his comment. Our attention was then geared towards the rustling of leaves behind us. It was a member of the black team.

"Oh shit" he sighed, knowing he had already lost.

I let out a small laugh as I looked to Eli. He gave me a nod to strike first. I did so, kicking him a few times before striking him hard in the face. He had lost his balance.
