kavia's pov

i woke up to the sharp sound of the alarm going off next to me. another day. without even getting out of bed, i reached over to grab my laptop and sign on to my online class. as soon as the teacher took attendance i slowly started to drift back to sleep.

"KAVIA" my dad screamed from outside my door jolting me awake. i looked at my laptop to see that my teacher had ended the zoom class.

"YES" i yelled back.

"ARE YOU ON ZOOM?" my dad shouted.

"YES"

i groaned and went through the rest of the day as i always do. sleeping through classes, sleeping through lunch, an after school nap. laying in my bed all day, scrolling through tiktok, barely eating or eating everything in sight. at 3 pm i finally dragged myself out of bed and went out to the living room.

"i'm taking the car to drive around a little okay?"

"aright, be safe and don't be out too long." my dad said without looking up from his book.

i drove around aimlessly, thinking about everything and nothing. i was so tired of living the same life everyday.

a facetime request from a friend showed up on my phone screen and i let it ring until she hung up.

i slowly drove up to my favorite spot and sat in my car looking at the sky. life was so boring and tiring these days. every day the same. nothing but school and sleep. i was tired of seeing other people living, really living, while i sat around surviving. i wanted to just drive away and have fun. i knew i couldn't though, and a text from my dad telling me dinner was ready brought me out of my thoughts as i started the car and drove back home.
