kavia pov

she stayed silent for a moment before turning to me fully. she looked between me and mattia then locked her eyes with mine. "you're getting pretty good at lying kav."

i scoffed and looked at my shoes.

"damn." mattia said making me look up, our eyes locking. "do you guys need a minute to talk or something?"

i sighed, looking down again.

"i just wanna go home. i wish you didn't take me with you kavia." mariana said quietly looking at the wall.

"i'm sorry." i fought back tears, struggling to figure out how to handle anything going on. i don't think either of them noticed.

"i just wanna sleep." mariana stated, ignoring my apology.

"it's a pullout couch, i can turn it into a bed and you guys can lay down if you want." mattia said.

"you don't have to-" i started but he cut me off.

"it's okay, really. i know i'm a stranger but if you want me to go upstairs or something i can i just want you guys to be comfortable."

"o-okay. thank you." i replied.

mattia stood up and walked over to a closet, me and mariana stood up after and helped him turn the couch into a bed. well, i mostly helped while mariana stood in the corner, handing us sheets and things.

when we had the bed set up mattia turned the tv on and got us everything we needed. he offered to go upstairs or something if we weren't comfortable but i told him he could stay.

me and mariana layed down on the couch that was now a bed and mattia told us he was going to sleep and went over to his bed. i went on my phone for awhile before trying to sleep but i couldn't. after awhile i glanced over to see mariana had fallen asleep but mattia was still up scrolling through his phone as well.

he noticed me looking at him and smiled, shutting his phone off and putting it down next to him. "are you okay?" he asked.

his voice sounded so hot. "yeah, i'm not that tired i guess."

"i feel tired but can't sleep." he said.

"same."

we sat in silence for a second before he spoke up again. "by the way, i didn't mean to seem arrogant or anything when i asked if you were a fan. i just have some followers on social media and my address got leaked recently so i just assumed and i'm sorry, i know i probably seemed like a dick."

i laughed slightly. "it's okay. i'm sorry if i seemed rude too or creepy or something, i promise i wasn't stalking."

he laughed too. "it's okay."

"so, what do you mean by 'some followers'? why haven't i heard of you?" i asked. mariana was right, i was getting good at lying. had to keep up the act i guess. whatever, like i said i doubt i'll remember him in two months. someday this will be a fun little story.

"hmmm, search me up." he smiled. "mattiapolibio on insta and tiktok."

i laughed and pulled out my phone. i remembered then that i already followed him and decided to go on my main account and unfollow all of his accounts and his friends as well. i doubt he would notice anyway.

"hmmm, 1.1 mill huh? pretty good." i smiled. "i'll give you a follow i guess."

"more on tiktok. what's your username i'll follow you back." he laughed.

"kavia.bankss" i smiled. "so, how long have you been 'famous'?

he laughed. "umm, a few years really. me and my friends kinda went viral on tiktok a few times and then i gained a lot on everything."

i smiled. "that's really cool. i always wanted to be famous on social media."

"yeah." he laughed. "it is cool but there are a lot of downsides too. hate and all that."

"yeah i'm sure. that sucks. what reason do people have to hate you?" i questioned. i meant it as a joke but his facial expression changed.

"i used to not be the best person." he sighed.

"i'm sorry for asking, i meant it like a joke." i said mentally slapping myself, knowing exactly what he was taking about.

"it's okay. i just said slurs and offensive things and mocked things i shouldn't have. i was a stupid and insensitive kid, even just a year ago. but i promise i'm not the same person i was, i really have changed." he said looking down.

i sighed, wondering whether or not i believed him. i always wondered what he'd be like in real life. if he acted the same or if he really did change his ways. "i get it." i replied, looking away.

"let me guess, you're counting down the minutes until you can get out of here now." he said with a short laugh.

"no." i replied looking back to him. he lifted his gaze and we made eye contact.

"why not?" he questioned.

"what reason do i have to believe you haven't changed? i don't know you. i guess i'm just going to have to take your word for it." i replied.

"until you get to know me better."

"until i get to know you better?" i smiled, unable to keep eye contact very well again.

"yeah. unless you don't want to." he smiled back.

"i do."
