kavia pov

"we're hereeeee." i said shaking mariana awake. she sat up rubbing her eyes and smiled at me slightly.

"is your sister gonna be mad at us?" she questioned looking at me.

"i don't think so. i hope not." i replied looking at the apartment complex in front of us. "only one way to find out!"

i grabbed my phone and opened the car door, mariana following after me. she grabbed my hand and we walked into the complex, going up the first set of stairs and down a long hallway. we stopped at number 819, the second to last one on the right.

i hesitated for a moment before knocking lightly. after a few seconds i heard shuffling and within a moment the door opened. immediately my sister's face lit up and she pulled me into a hug.

"kaviaaaaaa" she squealed. "i missed you so much."

"i missed you more." i said hugging her tightly. we pulled away and she looked over at mariana.

"mariiii, i missed you too." she said going in for a hug.

"i missed you alana." mariana replied hugging back. "i have to drive myself now." she rolled her eyes as she pulled away.

"oops." alana said laughing. she opened the door wider. "come innnnn."

her apartment was so cute. it was a literal representation of her. modern gray and granite decorations with pink accents. it was really cute, and felt really homey.

"my roommates out with her boyfriend, so it's just us." she said smiling. "are you guys hungry?"

after we brought our stuff in from the car and alana had called dad to tell him we made it here safe, alana grabbed her keys and drove us to the nearest burger place. we ate and talked and laughed and had so much fun. i had missed her so much, and it felt so good to get out again. i missed life so much.

"sooooo, are you gonna tell me why you two impulsively snuck out and drove halfway across the country or do i have to guess?" alana asked after the waiter brought us our milkshakes.

mariana shot me a glance and i slightly shook my head. "because i missed you." i spoke before slurping my milkshake pretty loudly.

alana slapped my arm lightly and chuckled. "you missed me that bad?"

"yes. and i was tired of living the same day over again. i know mariana was too."

"and you dragged me with you." she added with a smile. i rolled my eyes and nudged her thigh with mine.

"yeah okay but you know you wanted to go. i didn't force you. you could've gone back inside." i said looking down.

"i was joking kav, yes i wanted to go with you. but i didn't think we actually would."

"hmmm alright." alana said smirking. "you sure there's no boy here?"

"huh? what boy?" i asked genuinely curious. i felt mar staring at me through the corner of my eye but i ignored it.

"i was just wondering." alana smiled.

after we were done eating we came back home and alana's roommate was there. it was her best friend growing up, so me, alana, and mariana knew her pretty well. it was good to see kayla again too, she was like a sister to me.

when we got home we talked and played a few board games, caught up and things like that. we made brownies and watched a movie and a few shows. we gossiped about everything and nothing, it was so nice. at 12 am we were all pretty tired. alana said she'd sleep with kayla and me and mariana could take her room. we all showered and fell asleep pretty quickly.
