Early before school...
"What do you want?" I heard Mom smack Dad. I stared at the wall, listening to them fighting. I heard a quiet knock on my door.
"Ashley," It was Luke.
"Come on in," I said. He was bleeding and bruised. I gasped.
"Mom beated me up," Luke came in. I rushed out of bed and escorted Luke to my desk. I had bandaids and I gave the whole box to him. He left.
"Lucas!" I heard my mother's voice. "Go back to bed!" I soon as I heard that, I scrambled back to bed and pretended I was asleep.
Mom looked in my room. She shut the door, and locked it. I went back and unlocked the door.
"She did not!" I heard Mom. I leaned my back towards the door as Mom was trying to break it open. She didn't though, she just slammed the main door shut.
"That was close," I said to myself. I opened my bedroom door and walked out to the living room. Dad was in a chair, mouth, legs and arms roped. I undid it for him.
"Thanks, Ash," Dad said. "Now your brother went with Mom, he was blind folded, and had his mouth ductaped? Can you find him? But you have school today and see if he's there,"
"Ok," I put my school uniform on, plaid skirt, white button up shirt and sweater vest.
"The carpool is here!" Dad said. I walked out carrying my backpack on my back.
"Bye, Ashley," Dad hugged me, then whispered. "If you're mother and I divorce, I will try so hard to take you and Luke and we'll move to France. I'm already looking at houses and I'm secretly hiding the fact that 23 girls want to go out with me. Have a great day!" I went in the jeep with every kid who has parents that work for the same reason.
We drove for 1 hour to school. Each one of us had to report to the gym and we were seated by grade.
"Welcome to Moquelia International Academy!" A woman said into the microphone. Everyone applauded. "I'm your school president, Morgan Walkman," She explained the rules and expectations. I ignored her and stared at this really cute boy sitting in the first row.
He looked up at me then turned around.
"Time for your classes," the speaker said. "Have a great year!" I had my schedule in my hand since my parents enrolled me here. I walked in the hallways of the high school campus, but I was too focused on my schedule.
I was ran into and it knocked me over.
"Watch where you're going!" A girl with brown hair barked. She stomped away. The boy from the gym came over.
"Here, I'll help," He said in a normal accent. He picked up my books and helped me up.
"Thanks," I said.
"What's your name?"
"Ashley, yours?"
"Alex, who's homeroom are you in?"
"Keyna,"
"I'll walk you to her," Alex and I walked down the halls.
"So where did you come from?" He asked.
"California,"
"Oh, I came from Florida, must have been a long plane ride, what siblings do you have?"
"I have a brother, Luke,"
"I'm an only child," The bell rang. We both walked into homeroom.
"What's your number?" Alex whispered. I gave him my cell phone number.
