"Ashley, wake up! We're meeting Patrick and Piper in 10 minutes!" Mom said. I groaned and walked out of bed to get dressed and have some gum. Today was the day of my biological mother's trial.

I pulled my hair up in a low ponytail, and walked out of the hotel door with Mom.

"They should be here," Mom said as we were going down the elevator. We walked in the lobby. Piper and Patrick walked in.

"I missed you guys!" Mom said. They looked uninterested. The trial is on in 3 minutes.

"I'm going to go in the lobby to watch TV while you guys have your time," I ran in the guest lounge and sat down. They were addressing several things. I was texting Alex while this was happening.

"Hey, watching the trial?"

"Yes, how is it in Paris?"

"Alright," I powered my phone off and watched the trial. Mom was crying, idiot. If she wasn't so abusive, she wouldn't be in here. If Mom could just be her normal self, life would be fantastic right now.

I sat there for an hour and a half before the verdict was discussed. Then the verdict happened. The jury was agreeing to the debate. Mom was guilty in everything she did.

I jumped up in the air, and screamed "Yes!". Then sat down while the judge was deciding the sentence.

"You will be sentenced to death on May 15th and your child must be born and confined in the orphanage before that day," The judge said. That was 2 months from now. Time to get at it.
