chapter twenty-four - friday night lights
Erin's POV
I walk through the crowd of people and over to the bleachers, seeing Kurt and Mercedes waving at me to come sit with them. I grin and quickly make my way up the stairs and over to their spot on the metal stands.
"Don't you look cute for your boyfriend's game?" Kurt grins at me, making me roll my eyes playfully. I frown seeing Karofsky coming up the bleachers towards us.
"You really had the balls to show up?" he scoffs at Kurt.
"To a football game? At the school I go to?" Kurt rolls his eyes at him.
"Don't back talk me," Karofsky grabs the collar of Kurt's shirt and pulls him up from his seat. I quickly stand up and step in between them, pushing Karofsky away from him.
"Shouldn't you be with the rest of your meathead friends getting ready for the game?" I raise my eyebrows at him. He anxiously looks at Kurt and then back down at me.
"Look, Erin, if it weren't for Puckerman, you'd be dead meat," he frowns in frustration before storming back down the bleachers.
Puckerman? I'd understand if he'd said Sam-- or even Finn. But Puck?

Noah's POV
My eyes dart between the scoreboard and Finn as I sprint down the field. He locks eyes with me before throwing the ball in my direction. I reach out my arms and the ball lands perfectly in my hands. I grin to myself, weaving through the other team's defense before scoring a touchdown just as the final buzzer sounded. My eyes widen as I look around in awe seeing the rest of the team running over to me.
"Holy shit!" I grin at Finn, who tackled me into a hug and knocked on my helmet.
"We won!" he laughs. I scan the field and see Erin quickly running over to Sam. He grins and wraps his arms around her waist as he pulls her in for a kiss. I look around for Lauren and see her walking down the bleachers. I flash her a grin, and she rolls her eyes at me. I furrow my eyebrows and jog over to her.
"Hey," I smirk. "I don't know if you saw, but I just scored the winning touchdown," I wink at her.
"I saw," she raises her eyebrows at me. "See you at the afterparty, Puckerman," she laughs and walks away. I turn around and see Sam running around the field giving Erin a piggyback ride, and feel a frown fall across my lips. He didn't even score the fucking touchdown. Erin locks eyes with me and quickly whispers something in Sam's ear before he carries her over to me. She grins widely and hops off Sam's back to nearly tackle me in a hug.
"Puck, you're a god," she laughs into my chest.
"Seriously, dude," Sam gives me a genuine grin, patting my shoulder pads excitedly.
"You're coming to the afterparty at Finn's right?" Erin grins, pulling away from the hug. I give her a small nod, and she looks up at me and furrows her eyebrows.
"Come on, we need to hit the showers," Finn grins, coming up behind me and wrapping his arm around my shoulder. "And then hit the afterparty!" he yells.
