Her waist-length medium brown hair flowed freely behind her as she ran down the seventh grade hall, and her hazel brown eyes were clouded with a slight panic. She'd been called down to the office only a minute earlier, and the caller's voice contained a hint of urgency. Who knows what could be the reason? Very odd things had been going on around here lately, and she wanted no part in it.
There were rumors; horrible rumors of a group of teenagers dressed in dark colors. Some said the teens were cunning and deadly. However, there were others who said these people are here to protect the school from something darker. The ones defending the fearsome teens claimed to have seen a young woman, probably twenty years old at most, roaming the school grounds, causing the disappearances of several students in the past month. Everyone had seen the one picture taken of her; it was hard to forget. The woman had hair blacker than the blackest of paints, and eyes the same hue as blood. Her face was oddly pale, reminding most almost of a vampire. She was beautiful, but in a chilling way.
These thoughts worrying her further, the girl rounded the corner and slowed a bit, only walking quickly to the secretaries' desks. They showed her to the principal's office. Inside was one person, and the sight of her made the girl's swift steps falter.
She looked about seventeen, was wearing dark clothes, and her hair was blonde with brown tips and small streaks of aqua. She looked at the younger girl with, seemingly, a glimmer of pride in her eyes. She gave a gentle smile.
"Skye Winters, I assume?" The darkly dressed teen asked. All the younger girl, Skye, could do was nod.
The older just laughed. "It's alright. We have that effect on people. I'm Pearlstar, the leader of SoulsClan. We act as anonymous guards for your school. Although, it seems that lately we haven't been that anonymous." Skye shook her head.
"Well," Pearlstar said, "Let's get to the business at hand. You, Skye Winters, have extraordinary abilities in gym class and straight A's in all of your academic classes, making you highly qualified to join SoulsClan. Your skills would be greatly appreciated, and with training you could become a valuable protector to have here. If you want, anyway. Would you be interested?"
Skye pondered it for a few seconds. "I... Don't really know."
Pearlstar sighed. "I understand. You have plenty of time to think about it, however the sooner the better. We could use the extra skill these days."
She's almost out the door when Skye stops her.
"Wait, does this have anything to do with that woman? And the disappearances?"
"Sadly, yes."
Skye made her decision then, that she didn't want to stand by and watch people go missing when she had the chance to help.
"Alright. I'm in."

(A/N) Alright! If anyone is rereading this, you'll know I completely rewrote this prologue. Let's face it, the original one was... Well, crap. I rushed it, but now, ten chapters in and one on the way in the next week or so, I decided it was about time to do it over. I feel like it's a better idea to capture the readers' attentions right from the get-go (Ya don't say, Caroline?).

ALSO IMPORTANT: Before I hear about it, you may notice some similarities between my story and the Warriors series, if you've read it. This is in fact loosely based on it. VERY loosely, actually. But don't ask where I get everything else... It's roleplay propaganda, really. Who cares about that though, that's a story for another time! Just enjoy this, and remember, some of it may not make sense or not be what it seems...
But what fun is there in making sense?

Love y'all, Eerie out!
