(A/N) Wow. I haven't updated in, like, forever. OOPS?! *shrug* Now go read *shoves everyone to story and shuts A/N door behind them*

"Uh, well," Nicholas begins trying to make an excuse, "they're new here, so I thought I'd show them around and help them meet new people."

Flawless, except for something Delia knows that I don't.

"And you're showing them Skye's house?" Delia questions. "For the last six months, you haven't even been on the sidewalk in front of her house. What caused you to suddenly have the courage to walk up to the front door?"

Yikes. How's he going to answer that?

He doesn't. He just stands there, biting his lip.

"And," Delia continues, "it's kind of suspicious how the three new girls already know each other. And how Sierra seems so close to you, Nicholas, after being here for only two days. Plus, Lisa doesn't make friends that easily and quickly. What was she doing here with you guys, looking like she was about to say something before I showed up? Someone tell me what the heck is going on! Now!"

Nicholas looks at me, expecting me to come up with something like I usually can. I can't, though. Delia pointed out so much that there's not much room for excuses. So I look at Dawnflame and Blueflight, who just shrug. Lisa slowly backs into the house, and runs up the stairs the second she's in.

I sigh, knowing what I'm about to do could be a huge mistake.

"Well you see," I say, "I'm not exactly what you'd call 'new'..."

As I told the story, Delia's gaze became more and more intense. When I got to the part about Scarletstar, her stare was broken by a quick little flinch. She's sensitive when it comes to violence. It puts out the little spark inside her that makes her so... upbeat.

"So..." she says, barely audible, "We could all end up de-"

"No," I interrupt. "I won't let that happen. Ever."

Her eyes still look a little unfocused, and she whispers, "Pinkie Promise."

I give her a soft smile and say the words, knowing no matter what I'll abide by them.

"Cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye."

Comforted, she beams at me. "Okey dokey! What do I need to do?"

Everyone here has a place in the team already. Nicholas, Blueflight, Dawnflame, and I are obviously the fighters. Lisa has the resources to provide information. What we really need is someone with our plans.

"Okay, Dels," I say. "You're the brains."

"Yes!" she says, hyped. "What do the brains do?"

"You plan everything. We'll need someone to organize when and where we meet. You'll also plan out how we're going to get to Scarletstar."

Delia nods. I can already see the gears turning in her head. "I can do that."

        "Awesome."

On the bus, something dawns on me.

"Dels," I say, "what were you doing at my house?"
