(A/N) Yes, well, the planning took less time than I expected. I suppose it's because we're nearing the part I imagined, what was it, almost three months ago? Wow, can't believe I stayed dedicated to a story for that long. BACKSTORY TIEM (yes I know it's spelled wrong, that's the joke. :D) So over the last couple of years I've tried writing. I really have, but those stories never lasted long. Once I'd gotten as far as my mental movie had gone, all inspiration would be struck down, and the story would end up lost in my bookshelf, never to be seen again. I suppose the reason I didn't give up on this story is because I actually have an audience. All of you reading this helps a lot, even if you don't comment (*cough cough*). If you're still here reading this note, go you! You have my respect. If not... Well if not there's no need to address you 'cause you're NOT HERE. So, without further ado, here is the awaited CHAPTER ELEVEN!

Everything happens as it should. Scarletstar "dies" and fades away like she did the last seven times, and her henchmen flee on the spot; but this time it's different by one horrible, life-changing, disastrous thing. Nicholas took a knife for me.

At first it's all fuzzy. I'm zoned out, and I just can't accept it. It all comes rushing to me, however, when I receive a slap from Blueflight.

"Shadow!" she shouts at me. "The students are coming in! We have to get out of here!"

I shook myself out of my daze and see that many students have in fact already seen Nicholas. Delia is on the phone, presumably calling 911, and Dawnflame is trying her best to care for Nicholas. Although, it's not going well.

"Okay, it's going to be fine," she says to him, as though she's trying to comfort herself as well. "I'm going to pull the knife out. Luckily she didn't use one that would be difficult to remove."

I can't look when she takes it out, and I'm on the verge of tears when I hear Nicholas's scream. I start to zone out again when Delia pulls me up to take me away. My head snaps up, and I can feel myself going mad.

"No!" I yell, trying to get back to Nicholas. I can't leave him alone, not with people he barely knows! Who am I, to go when he's suffering, in the middle of a sort of situation he's never had to be in his whole life?

"Skye, come on!" Delia urges, voice shaking, and her feet struggling to find purchase on the tile floor. "He's going to be taken care of, and the last thing we need is for you to be distracted!"

Nicholas is like a brother to me. There is no way in hell I'm giving in and leaving him behind. I won't go down without a fight. Ever.

I go slack just long enough for Delia to think she's won and relax, then I use a burst of strength to pull myself free. Blueflight sees me, though, and grabs me. With Delia's help, they manage to drag me away, still kicking and screaming. I won't leave him. I won't, I won't, I won't.

"Stop it!" I shriek. "I can't leave him here! I promised I'd keep him safe! I promised, don't you get it? I fucking promised him! Let me go now!"

Suddenly I'm slammed to the ground and, held down by Delia, I can only stop and try to catch my breath as Blueflight brings her face close to mine and speaks.

"Shadow," she says. "We can't have you causing problems like this. We need to move fast and if you won't cooperate..."

She sighs before saying softly, "I'm so sorry. Please forgive me for this..."

I feel her fist connect with my cheek before everything goes black.

When my eyes open, I notice the bulletin board with SoulsClan announcements all over it. At first I think I fell asleep in the middle of a clan meeting, but then it all comes rushing back, leaving my head spinning.
