chapter 15.5

-day 8 of training camp + day of the festival and the after party.

we were supposed to wake up late today but i woke up at 5am because i got a weird feeling in my stomach. 

right after i woke up i opened my phone to look for y/n's note.

'i'm glad you're happy kageyama' 

what the fuck is that supposed to mean. girls are harder to understand than math.

i saved the note and decided to go for run.

when i got outside it's foggy, yet a slim light shined through the clouds. it gave me a feeling of nostalgia or whatever.

i was about to leave when i got the feeling that i'm forgetting something so i checked my phone. 

"was there something i need to do today?" i thought

then i saw the date it's the day of the festival. i wonder how thats going.

my day went normal. 

the dumbass wanted to practice our quick so we did. 

then we played a three v three with ema against kuroo-san, bokuto-san and akaashi-san. it was kinda awkward. there was this weird tension between ema and akaashi like they were fighting. and the worst thing was the fact that akaashi-san kept glaring at me. 

so hinata and i just tried to stay out of it. 

i was drinking water and resting while they were all talking. then 

an image of y/n flashed through my head.

"what the hell" i mumbled standing up.

"kageyama are you okay?" ema said looking at me. 

"uh- yeah just give me a second" 

i went to go outside and i got this really weird feeling. the everything felt off. something was wrong

it was like the sky was crying but had no tears left. it was like the sun was hiding from something. or maybe grieving. 

what am i even saying.

i place both of my hands over my eyes trying to calm down.

why is everything so weird. 

"hey b-bakageyama are you okay?" 

for some reason i thought it was going to be ema but this time it was the moron.

"shut up hinata" 

"there is definitely something wrong with you. you just called me by my last name. what going on with you?"

"i would tell you if i knew i-i just don't.. know" 

"does it have to do with the person you keep switching with?" 

my eyes go wide open and my head retorts towards him. 

the idiot was looking at the sky.

"h-how did you know?" 

"well i didn't want to say anything but it was getting pretty obvious. i guess i finally noticed when we first got to training camp" he said before rubbing his hands together. trying to warm them up.

"you kept on switching personalities saying things you wouldn't say before and you kept on messing my name up- well the other person was." he placed his hand in his pockets then continued

"then when you were actually here i could tell you were falling in love with that person. but people thought you were falling in love with ema. i knew they were wrong but i guess that would be weird if i told them you were falling in love with the person that was in your body but not y-yknow?" he said with dull eyes.

"y-yeah i guess" 

"i'm sorry i was going to tell you earlier but i didn't want to freak you out" he said smiling

"n-no whatever boke it's fine" i say before clearing my throat 

"does the team know too?" 

"nope" 

i guess the boke was smarter than me, maybe he pays more attention than i thought. 

and when i looked at him and he looked relieved.

then there was silence. not an awkward silence, just silence. the boke and me looking at the sky. until he spoke up.

"so want to tell me about them?" he said looking back at me. 

i turned away burning up a little bit.

"her name is y/n" 

"WHAT I'VE BEEN CHANGING IN FRONT OF A GIRL THIS WHOLE TIME?!" he freaked out going pale

"BOKE THAT'S NOT MY FAULT"  

"BAKAGEYAMA YOU SHOULD'VE TOLD ME EARLIER" 

"WELL WASN'T SUPPOSED TO TELL YOU! YOU WEREN'T SUPPOSED TO KNOW" 

after he calmed down he sighed and then went back to having a smile.

"so why are you having problems with her? did you get into a fight?" he asked

"w-well n-no not a fight. i'm just worried she left me a note this morning saying i'm happy for you, and earlier on i got a weird feeling and saw a image of her but it wasn't a happy one. and i want to ask her what's going on with her but there's no way i can" 

the boke looked at me and said 

"why don't you just call her?"

i was about to argue but he's not wrong. why haven't i called her.

i grabbed my phone and type in the number i've seen on her phone so many times. 

i look at hinata who's giving me a thumbs up and pressed call. 

the phone rings for 10 seconds then stops.

"i'm sorry; the number you have reached is not in service, or temporarily disconnected. the number you have reached is not in service at this time." 

she's probably just busy. i show the phone to hinata and he just pouts a little.

"it's okay i bet you'll switch with her soon just ask her then!" he says with a sure look

"but until then set for me because y/n doesn't give me good sets!" 

"shut up boke" 

we walked back to the gym and i believe hinata's words. 

well..

let me rephrase that.

i believed hinata's words.

because ever since then the switching stopped.
