As the two were walking back to the house, John lit another cigarette after finishing the first one.
"Why another one?" Paul asked.
"Because its freezing. I'll warm up with this."
"I can't argue with ye there." Paul laughed.
"I'm tired right now......."
"That's no surprise. Well, we're heading back now. Maybe you can sleep even though you woke up not even an hour ago."
"Well, I'm getting old. I get tired more often and easily."
"Yer supposed to be young."
"I was young twenty years ago."
"Eh. Yer still young."
"The problem is, I don't feel young anymore."
They got back to the house and John unlocked the door.
"Nice walk though." Paul said.
"If ye say so. I need to get out more."
"Now yer getting it. Do small tasks before you go anywhere big."
"Small tasks? Like what?"
"Like doing what we just did. Walk around the neighborhood until you get comfortable to do something else."
"Yeh. That could be a start. I've been doing good and forcing myself to go out. When Julian was here, I walked him home."
"Good. You got out of yer neighborhood."
"Yeh. But only once."
"Well, yesterday you went to London."
"I'm not really talking about that. I took a cab there. I didn't walk all the way."
"No, but you still got out of the house."
"Yeh but...............its not the same thing. By the way, last night, I did some thinking."
"About what?"
"Yer invitation for touring. Kept me up most of the night. I finally made up my mind and the answer is.................."
Paul started laughing. "Yer keeping me on edge!"
"The answer is yes. I'll take you up on that offer. I want to know what it feels like to tour around the world again. I think it would be fun."
"Great! That's great to hear!" Paul said, happily.
The two walked in the house and went up to the couch.
"So, when would you want to start it?"
"Isn't that up to you?" John asked.
"Well, yer my guest so I'll make that decision up to you."
"In that case, I would want to start soon."
"Okay. Then we would need to schedule for it to be a few months away so everyone would know about it and whatnot."
"Ah. Just like the good ol' days."
"I'll just give my manager a call and he could take care of it all."
"How would he feel when he finds out that I'm touring with you?"
"He's cool with it. I told him I might consider taking you along."
"Hmm. Well, okay then."
********
Paul had called his manager and he scheduled everything. Then, he told Paul the dates and where they would preform and Paul wrote it down.
He went back to John and handed him the paper.
"Here."
John looked it over.
"Let's see what we have here."
He grabbed his glasses and put them on before reading off the dates.
"Looks like the first date is set for April 7th. Four months away. And we will be in London for the first show. Not bad."
"Just don't go partying on me now."
"I would never. I don't really party anymore."
"I know. You used to when we did shows."
"Can we at least go out instead of staying in a hotel for who knows how long?"
"Yeh. Now since all of our fans grew up, they won't be trying to get up on stage."
"Good. It was enjoyable though. But I also don't want to go through that again."
"It won't. Trust me."
