(Looking just like his dad)

John lit the cigarette and just looked at it. "I really need to stop smoking these things."

"Got a smoke, do ye?" Paul asked.

"Yeh. I'm tired of them but I can't quit."

"Yes you can. Never say you can't."

"Okay.................its hard to. I just need something to help me quit. Have you tried to quit?"

"Once. I had some episode at the studio from the excessive smoking I did." (I read about this part being true)

"I think I remember that. That's what you get for smoking."

"Ey, say it about yerself. Yer also a heavy smoker."

"Not like I want to be! Do you know what I gained from smoking? A very bad cough."

"I would take a cough over what happened to me. Trust me."

"I wouldn't want a cough."

"Trust me..................you would rather have a cough."

"Okay. Whatever you say. What I want is to quit. But................."

"Yeh, I know. I can't just quit cold turkey."

"Cold turkey eh?"

"Not talking about yer song."

"Oh...............I knew that."

"What I'm saying is, I can't just quit suddenly. It'll take some time."

"Well, if yer like some people, you can quit suddenly."

"Uh, have you met me?  I've been smoking since before I joined the Beatles."

"Yeh. So have I. That's why I need to."

"Knock yerself out. I might within the next few years."

"Good."

John took an ashtray and placed his cigarette in it.

"Once............scratch that.................if I ever quit smoking, I'll have Yoko quit because we still have a little guy around here and I don't want him coming in contact with second hand smoking."

"Good plans. So anyways, I need to hang up because George will be calling you soon and I don't want yer line to be busy."

"Are you trying to get rid of me?"

"How'd ye guess? I'll be sure to stop at Mimi's tomorrow."

"One thing..............be sure to leave the kids. I'll be leaving mine."

"Hmm. Okay. I'll have Lin looking after them I guess."

"Okay. I'll see ye tomorrow."

"Oh............forgot to ask.............what time should I be over?"

"Around 1pm. Since yer coming over tomorrow, we might be able to write a song."

"Sounds great. See ye tomorrow."

John hung up the phone and once again picked up the lit cigarette. He then examined it and sighed.

He knew he had to quit but it was hard. He hated craving for a cigarette if he didn't have one. He took a drag of the cigarette and set it back in the ashtray.

Sean approached him and got on the couch.

"Hi."

"Hey son. Did you invite a friend over?"

"Yes. His mom told him not to because he will be busy today."

"Hmm. Okay. Well, that's fine, right?"

"Yeah."

"Do you have any other friends you want to invite over?"

"I don't know anybody."

"That does seem like a problem."

"I want my old friends back."

"I know you do. Ye'll see them soon."

"When?"

"Soon. I'm not sure when."

"Okay. I want to go back."

John wasn't sure what to say to a 5 year old. He wasn't going to disappoint his son and say they weren't going to go back but he also didn't want to lie to him and tell him they will go back.

"Um.............kid..............ye'll make new friends here. Ye'll love it here. Trust me. Right now, we can't go back. Later, ye'll understand."

"Oh."

Throughout the day, John and Sean were spending some time together while John was waiting for George's call. It was about 7pm when his phone rang.

He reached over and picked it up.

"George?"

"I take it Paul told you I was calling?"

"Yes. You were supposed to have called TWO HOURS AGO!"

"Calm down John. I was busy and couldn't clear my schedule for 5pm."

There was a knock on the door.

"Geo, I have someone at the front door. Hold on a minute."

He set the phone down and stood up. Then, he noticed Sean running to the door.

"Ey! No! I'll do the answering kid!"

Sean stopped running and looked up at John. "But I want to answer it."

"No. Not this time. Me or yer muther will answer the door if someone comes over. Go."

Sean walked away from the door but kept his gaze John's way.

John opened the door. It was the person who tried killing him off.

I'm trying hard not to use his name in this story. I only used it once many chapters ago and I don't want to use it again. I'm normally the type of person who tries to make stuff accurate so if I use his name, just know, its a complete accident!
