Raymond's golden eyes were bright; surveying his immediate surroundings. He saw Lyra's aura next to him, that almost familiar shade of red. A quick glance to the ground he saw what he was looking for. Closing his eyes they dimmed back to their natural state.

"That wasn't a gust of wind. It was a person." Raymond explained to Lyra.

"A person? What kind of person can do that? A wind demon?" The girl asked Raymond.

"Someone very fast." Raymond explained.

"And you deduced that with your glowy eyes?" She asked.

"Yeah it lets me see things normal people can't see." Raymond told her.

"What kind of things?" Lyra asked non chalantly. Though she was really curious.

"Mostly colors. It's kind of like colored fire radiating off people, and I can see purple footprints going that way." The yellow eyed man said with a point. After his explanation the young man groaned, and pinched his eyes shut.

"You alright?" Lyra asked. She could see her companion was obviously feeling discomfort.

"Yeah I'll be alright. It just gives me headaches." He told her.

"Alright well lead the way." She told him.

"Riley you here." A voice called out. The owner of said voice was a boy. He was only a teenager, and his dark hair was completely windswept. He stood around five foot seven inches, and was quite skinny.

"Yeah I'm here." Riley said exiting the bathroom. She was young, no older than thirteen.

"I hit the jackpot today." The older boy spoke. Going into his pocket he grabbed a stack of money. The girl's icey eyes widened at what she saw.

"Whoa how much is this?" Riley asked.

"Enough for us to get the hell out of Iowa, and to get some real damn food." He told her.

"Wait where'd you get this from?" She asked. The girl was young, but smart. People didn't just carry this kind of cash for no reason.

"Does it matter?" The boy asked.

"David." She said in a no nonsense tone. With a roll of his eyes, the boy now named David answered.

"Just two nobodies. There was this guy in a long coat, and a girl with creepy white hair." David said.

"Creepy white hair? What made it creepy?" Riley asked.

"Because young people don't have white hair." The boy answered. Before they could talk anymore on the subject a rap on the door broke their reverie. David pressed a finger to his lips. A signal to the girl for silence. Slowly he approached the door. Checking the peephole he saw the two from earlier. His brown eyes widened, and his blood ran cold.

The boy couldn't react fast enough, because the door was smashed off it's hinges, and he fell to the floor with a thud. Groaning in pain he was abruptly lifted off the ground and pushed into the wall. Lyra grabbed the boy by his shirt and lifted him off his feet.

"You think you're pretty slick don't you kid." The girl said. In the back Raymond was seen putting the door back up.

"How'd you find me? Who the hell are you people!?" He shouted. Lyra slammed him into the wall.

"I ask the questions here not you." The white haired girl said venom spitting from her mouth.

Raymond meanwhile took a seat on the couch. His head felt like it was in a vice.

"Hey kid could you keep it down my head feels like it's being crushed right now." The half monkey spoke. Both his hands covered his face as he rubbed it trying to will the headache away. They've never been this bad before, but then again, he's never had to use his eyes that long before.

The small girl looked on. Not in fear, but more so curiosity. Especially Raymond who was just radiating pain. Slowly she approached the half monkey.

"Look we just want the money back. Do that, and you can continue with whatever it is you do." She told the teenager.

Behind Lyra the small girl was in front of Raymond. Lifting his head, he locked eyes with Riley. Reaching a hand out she touched the side of his head. Raymond was weirded out at first, but than he felt a warmth on his head. It was pleasant. With her other hand she touched the other side. A few seconds went by, and she took her hands away.

"How do you feel now?" She asked.

Opening his eyes, he realized the pressure in his head was gone.

"Hey neat. I don't feel like I'm going to die anymore." He said standing up. "Thank you. Sorry about all this by the way." He told the small girl. "My friend can be intense at times." He said in a whisper.

"She's definitely intimidating." The small girl agreed.

"Riley would you stop making friends with a stranger, and help me?" The teenager asked. Lyra turned her head, finally noticing the small girl. Lyra's shoulders visibly sagged at the sight. They were children.

"I'm going to let you go, and then we'll get this all sorted. Only if you promise not to run." She said. Her voice still had an edge to it, but it was softer.

"Done deal just please put me down." David said indignantly. The boy didn't appreciate being man handled by the woman.

"Lyra I made a new friend. This is Riley, and Riley this is Lyra my bff." He said putting an arm around her shoulder. Only to have the wind knocked out of him by an elbow.

Meanwhile in Pittsburgh

"Jeez that guy just wouldn't stop whining. 'You killed my friend, you destroyed business.' Boo hoo am I right Benny?" Felix asked his friend. The two were seen exiting The Fox's office. Felix was cleaning his dagger of all the blood. Ben said nothing.

"I know right total primadonna. Ah well guess we're headed to Vegas." The smaller man said. The two left the parking building.

If one were to look inside the office of The Fox. They'd see him dead with all nine tails forcibly removed.
