"So do you enjoy stirring up trouble for others?" Lyra asked Raymond. The two were seen walking down a sidewalk after dining and dashing.
"I wouldn't say I enjoy it. I'm certainly not against it though." Raymond answered. They walked down the sidewalk, before ducking into an alleyway.
"So what's the plan now? You're full, how are we going to find our guy?" She questioned. The half monkey smiled at her.
"Easy, that's how." Going into his coat pocket Raymond pulled out the bloody cloth. "Hold this for me." He said handing it to his companion.
"And this is?" She questioned with a mild grimace.
"This is how I found him the first time. I paid a visit to the motel room. Nice job by the way." He told her. Lyra had to hide the smile on her face. She found the shooter in the motel room, and apprehended him easy enough.
Lyra was about to ask how a bloodied cloth was going to help them. The white haired girl saw her companion shifting and changing. Raymond was gone, and the German Shepherd appeared.
"Well that's interesting." She said with surprise. The dog let out a bark. Hesitantly the girl held the cloth out. Approaching her the dog's nose began twitching. Taking deep smells of the rag it began smelling the ground around them. Lyra watched on curiously at the German Shepherd.
The dog's head shot up, and it barked again. It ran towards the entrance of the alley. Turning around to look at the white haired girl it barked twice. His tongue rolled out, and it's tail was wagging. Taking the hint Lyra followed the dog. Barking a few more times the dog began running.
"Somebody shut that dog up!" A resident of New York screamed. The two ignored it though.
The German Shepherd ran all over the city with Lyra in tow. Lyra was worried one of them would get run over at one point.
There was also a moment when a cop stopped them. The officer in question was threatening to call the dog catcher. Lyra had to explain her dog "Winston" ran out of her apartment, and she was trying to get him back. The cop let her off with a warning and they were off again.
Eventually they were at the subway. The German shepherd ran into the bathroom, and Raymond walked out.
"Winston? That was the best name you could come up with?" He asked incredulously.
"Yes it was. Besides you should have told me what you were doing anyway. How the hell did turn into a dog?" She asked.
"We'll deal with that later. We have a train to catch come on." Walking ahead of her she followed closely. The subway wasn't nearly as full of people as it could be. People were still at there jobs. Getting on one of the trains the two grabbed a seat.
"He's on this train all we gotta do is go down the train and find him." Raymond said.
"Sounds good let's go." Lyra said standing. The half monkey nodded and got up as well.
Each car of the subway train had various people on them. From gang bangers, the homeless, kids who played hooky from school, and a single shooter. At the last car they found their guy at the very end.
"There he is" the white haired girl whispered.
"Go time." Raymond said quietly. Quickening their pace the two walked up to the man. His eyes widened in fear at his assailant. Attempting to get up Lyra placed her hand on his shoulder forcing him back down.
"Now did you really think you were going to escape." Lyra said her electric eyes burning. Raymond walked to the back and forced the door open. His hair was blowing back from the wind outside the train.
"Let's talk in private shall we?" Raymond asked them both. Getting what he was going for she grabbed the shooter, and forced him on his feet.
"Sounds good to me." She answered.
"Wait no don't!" The shooter yelled.
Ignoring him she pushed the man right off the train. The landing was not kind to him. He rolled a few feet and was lying flat on his back. The other two landed on there feet easy enough.
"Ahh, oww, urrrgh." The man groaned in pain. Picking him up Lyra slammed him into the wall.
"Start talking." She said sharply.
"No." Was his answer. Punching the wall beside his head. It cracked under her strength.
"Lyra may I?" Raymond asked. The girl looked at him briefly before dropping the man.
"Knock yourself out." She said.
"Thank you. So tell me what's your name?" Raymond asked. The man was quiet before answering.
"Paul."
"Paul. Well Paul my friend and I need some questions answered. So I need to know why did you kill that siren?" Raymond asked.
"The boss wanted her dead." Paul answered.
"Right, right. And that would be whom?" The man was silent again. "Alright how about this. A train is coming in, oh I'd say a few minutes. Tell me or get hit by it." The half monkey said. In the distance you could hear the incoming train.
"The choice is yours, but you are running out of time." The sound of the train got louder as it got closer.
"You can't be serious?" Paul asked.
"Oh we're dead serious." Lyra said.
"We? This was my plan." The half monkey said.
"So what?" She asked.
"Fair enough." he answered. The train was getting closer, and closer.
"Last chance Paul talk or get hit by a train!" Paul was hyperventilating at this point. He could see the lights of the train coming.
"I'll talk, I'll talk." Raymond and Lyra looked at each other, and nodded. Raymond grabbed Paul and threw him to the other track.
"Alright, talk." Raymond said.
