Season 3 spoilers!!

I had never really noticed how peaceful it really was outside of the walls, how peaceful it used to be before all of the Titans existed...Everything was so green and lush. As part of the Scout regiment, we had always been permitted to leaving the walls, which is what we had done today. It was a bright day, very sunny...very calm. In the passed year, snow piled up and melted away, the giant sledge in Trost fell silent as there were no Titans left to venture near the walls...When the snow had melted, the military had announced that Wall Maria was no longer infested with Titans. The elevators either side of the wall were dismantled and the gates were opened up again, refugees being permitted to return to their hometowns, after six years...Work had been done to begin construction on a new road. Everyone seemed so happy to finally be returning to what they formerly knew as home. It wasn't until the sun began to rise that we had begun our ride, and it felt great to finally see the outside world once again. When I was younger, I used to run up to the gates when my guardian and their squad left for expeditions, I always managed to catch glimpses of the outside world. When I was a child, something had happened during the night and I was found by wandering military, covered in blood, on the edge of collapsing. This brown haired woman with glasses was the one to find me, wandering around Trost with this little black haired man. She had talked to me, asking me a few questions before having picked me up, taking me back to a building with them. I had learned that their names were Hanji and Levi, and they were part of the Scout regiment of the military. As of that night, I had no living relatives, and was taken into the care of the Scouts. By the age of eleven I had mastered ODM gear and was allowed to join the basic training of the 104th Cadet Corps instructed by Shadis. I had spent six years with the Scouts, Hanji and Levi usually being the ones keeping an eye on me, caring for me, babying me...so when I announced the idea of joining, they were incredibly opposed to it, although they quickly settled on the idea of having me around them all of the time to keep an eye on me once I finished training. Hanji came by more than Levi, he never really dropped by.
Now at the age of 17, I rode alongside them, joining their expedition outside of Wall Maria. I had spaced out, admiring everything around us, that I hadn't noticed the red flare ahead of us.
We all slowly came to a stop near the Titan. It was on it's stomach, trying to crawl towards the wall, but it wasn't moving anymore, having struggled to much and simply remaining there. It was confirmed, by Eren, that the Titan was a human who had been shipped onto Paradise, the island we resided on. I looked ahead, catching the scent of salt...? I furrowed my brow, ignoring everyone chatting quietly and standing around the Titan, as I turned my horse in the direction we had been heading anyway, continuing on.

"She's in a hurry..." I heard Hanji's voice sigh.

"We had better follow her before she hurts herself."

"Levi, she's not a chil-" I had ridden out of earshot.

It wasn't very long before the others caught up and we were galloping across sand dunes, the horses kicking it up behind them as they ran. The soft texture must have been refreshing compared the the hard mud and grass earlier. I lightly kicked my horse to ride faster when I noticed a man-made wall.
We carefully walked up a sandy hill, finding ourselves on the edge of a grassy cliff, overlooking a large body of water.
It was the first time I had  ever seen Levi and Hanji so amazed, fascinated...free. All their work, the death of all of their comrades, it had paid off, everything had paid off...Even Mikasa was astounded by the sight, like a child receiving a gift they'd always wanted, so was Armin.

A gentle smile crossed my lips as I watched my former classmates enjoy their time out here, not having to worry about a single thing, playing in the water or just standing in it. Even Hanji was enjoying it.

"Woohoo!! Is this thing seriously all salt-water?!" She beamed, her trousers rolled up to her knees with her jacket and cloak with her horse. Levi and I stood onshore away from the water.
