I glanced around the room smiling softly and patting down my dress so it's skirt was flat. An exhale of air was released as I sighed, recognising a few faces that my very slightly younger sister had pointed out to me. She had served in the military with them before coming to find me elsewhere within the inner-most wall where I had been forced by our father to take residence, before joining the cadets and graduating top, joining the Military Police. As I wandered around the room, I took note of this groups conversation, listening curiously since it seemed to be an altercation of some form.

"Someone has to tell the truth." The smile I wore faltered a little, listening to this teenager's words. His attention even shifted onto this smaller blond boy, around 15 maybe, I wasn't sure, being 17 myself.

"I know how desperate you were to revive Commander Erwin." Historia told me about him, this blond boy, how he was incredibly strategic and was almost on par with the Commander. Armin Arlert...He was a great addition to the Scouting regiment, and better yet the Military, simply based on knowledge. She had told me that he was always thinking logically, putting others before himself, and Erwin listened to him every single time he had something to say about a formation, expedition, or mission. This boy had an incredible mind, with the ability to become a far greater strategist than the Commander himself.

"That's right. It should have been the Commander, not you." I straightened in surprise at the other boys words. He was nearer my height, reddish blond hair, and a fairly deep voice, although not too deep. "I'm not the only one who thinks that. We all do." I bit my lip, listening from behind a pillar as two other military members were talking around me, choosing to act as though I was in a conversation with them so I could eavesdrop. "Everyone who read the report thinks the same thing: Why wasn't Erwin the one picked?" I decided that I wanted to intervene soon, although I felt that it wasn't my place to, especially since I hadn't seen the horrors they had, or fought alongside them... Even other regiment soldiers were listening in.

"What the hell do you know about Armin?" A brown haired boy defended the smaller blond, who's eyes caught onto me glancing their way. "Tell me!"

"Nothing at all. I'm not his childhood friend, and we're not chum's, either. But I can still tell you why Armin was chosen." I wanted to listen, I really did, but I believed I would have a different opinion to him...so I tried not to listen. "It's because you two, and Captain Levi, brought your emotions into it-" I decided to butt in, smiling softly as I approached the group.

"I'm sorry, I couldn't help but overhear your conversation." The group turned to me. "I really must disagree with you on this topic." The group stared at me confused. "I know Levi, and I knew Erwin...Even if Levi brought his feelings into the choice, he would have done it while considering Erwin's..." I swallowed, not used to this amount of people looking at me as I spoke. "I believe Erwin would have wanted Armin to be chosen...I also believe we have only made it as far as we have because Armin joined the ranks."

"You're being ridiculous-"

"If it wasn't for Armin, Eren would have had no one to save so desperately, never having discovered his Titan form." The brown haired and Armin shared a look. "Armin was the one who brought Eren back to his senses during the whole 'plugging the wall's hole' situation when he stopped in his tracks." I took a deep breath. "Armin has protected Jean, Eren has protected Mikasa, because of his Titan form, without which she would have died, causing the Military to lose one of it's best soldiers and lowering our chances of success."

"He also tried to kill her." I shrugged.

"A minor factor, which got Eren into Levi's custody and under his supervision, involving the boy in Scout activities. If none of this happened I'm sure we wouldn't know about the basement or what was in it. Not only that, but, thanks to Armin, who suggested searching the wall, Reiner Braun was found, do correct me if I'm wrong." I looked to the blond with an encouraging smile, he nodded. I turned my attention back to the reddish head. "What I will suggest for you, is that you keep your opinions to yourself and respect the Captain's choice because I am dead certain that he made the right choice. Armin has a great amount of potential to surpass the Commander by legions in the field of academics and strategy." I looked the boy in front of me up and down, an incredibly serious expression crossing my lips. "Commander Erwin was more concerned with finding out what was in the basement and outside of the wall and proving his father's theories, than humanity's victory. So think what you will, but personally, I believe there is more than enough evidence to back up Levi's choice, respect it." I sent the blond and his two close friends a smile before heading off towards Historia as everyone was called for the ceremony.
