Chapter Thirty Four: The School Dance Poster

I stared at the poster, and just sighed in slight annoyance.

I didn't know the school was having a school dance. If I knew before I would have planned something beforehand for Diana. I know Diana would be happy if I jus regularly asked her out for it, but I wanted a grand gesture.

I ran my hand over my face in annoyance.

"Guess they planned this overnight because I didn't hear about you. What about you Quinn?" I heard Gwen stated as she stopped beside me.

"Welcome to our high school's very first school dance. We are sorry that this came out of no where but we wanted to create something for the year elevens and twelves. It will go from 5pm til 10pm. It will be on 25th which is next Friday. More information will be announced when it's closer," Gwen said repeating the poster, and she turned her whole body at me.

"You going with Diana?" She added, and I nodded my head.

"Although this sort of thing isn't my thing, I know it's Diana's thing. So I'll be attending the event but I won't be able to ask her til tomorrow." I stated and Gwen looked at me confused.

"Tomorrow?" She stated and continued," Why tomorrow?"

"Well, I didn't get timed to plan anything so tonight I gotta plan a way to ask her out to it," I stated and she sighed and put her hand on my shoulder.

"You don't have to do that. She'll be happy if you just asked her out regularly."

"I know," I said sighing and looked up at her. "I just want to do this one thing for her though. She deserves something like that, you know?"

Gwen then took her hand off of my shoulder and smiled at me.

"So what's the plan?" She said teasing slightly and I just rolled my eyes while smiling.

"I don't know. I want it to be a surprise but I don't want to ignore her or make her think that I don't want to go, you know? I mean like I slightly don't want to go since it's not my thing but I want to go with her." I stated and Gwen nodded her head.

"Well, since the thing is tomorrow... it's not far away so you could just tell her that you'll talk to her about it tomorrow. And it won't be too much of a surprise but she'll be surprised with the surprised," Gwen suggested and I nodded my head.

I like her idea.

"That's a really good idea! Thank you for the suggestion Gwen," I said as we both began to walk towards the gym for practise.

"It's no problem. Glad to help my best friend with her girl problems," Gwen said and I laughed alongside her.

I walked into the gym to see.a few of my teammates looking at the poster. The same poster i had just looked at. And Diana wasn't with those few teammates which meant she either saw it or didn't-

"Quinn!" Diana shouted, and i looked to my right to see that she was jogging up to me with the hugest smile on her face.

I knew from that shout alone that she saw it. I knew she was going to ask me or something like that. She then reached me and Gwen was no longer beside me and had walked over towards Aryana.

"Can we go to the dance thing?" She said and I looked around to see the girls chatting and whatnot.

"Can we talk about this tomorrow?" I asked, going along with my plan. I saw Diana's smile fall and I felt horrible but I kept with the plan. I put my hand on her shoulder. "I'm just busy at the moment, okay?"
