Chapter Forty Five

Chapter Forty Five: Sonya's crushing

"We have science after recess," Gwen commented and I groaned in annoyance.

"God, don't remind me."

"Sorry. I just love to see you suffer," She joked and I playfully glared at her.

"Just you wait for it. You'll feel the pain I feel one day when it comes to science," I stated and she hummed in a mockery tone.

"You will just wait."

The bell rang signalling that it was the end of class. She chuckled as we packed up our stuff. We walked into the hallway and said our quick goodbye.

We went our separate ways. She went to her locker while I went to Diana's. I didn't need to go to mine since I could do it after my meeting with the two girls. Plus, I wanted to give Diana notice that I couldn't hang with her this recess.

I saw her in the distance and she was lowkey struggling to put her books away. She was carrying a lot of supplies in her arms which didn't help her in any case.

I chuckled at her struggle. It was cute to see her. She was so pretty and I am so glad that I get to call her my girlfriend. And I can publicly say that.

I walked up to Diana and smiled at her. She glanced at me and smiled back. I grabbed her books and help her put them in her locker.

"I hope you don't mind but I won't be able to hang out this recess," I stated as I glanced at her to see understanding in her eyes.

"Helping those girls again?" She asked and I nodded my head and closed her locker. Her smile widen more when she said that.

"Yep, we have another session on our hands and whatnot," I stated casually while shrugging. She grabbed my hand and I looked at our linked hands.

"Once again, I'm glad you're helping them." She said and I looked up at her to see she was telling the truth. "I'm so glad."

"We can hang out at my dorm after school if you want," I said slightly changing up the subject.

"Sure," She stated and kissed my cheek and wished me a goodbye before walking towards Gwen. I smiled at the two of them as they disappeared from my line of sight.

I began to walk to the library, and after a few minutes arrived there. Sonya and Alanna were already there since I was a few minutes late.

Sonya looked like she was about to bounce off of the walls if she waited another minute. Soon, they saw me and they both came running towards me. Lucky, the ladies at the desk didn't see them.

"I got some important news." Sonya said excitedly while hopping from foot to foot. I raised my eyebrow and began to walk towards the table at the back.

"What is it?" I asked as the two of them followed me.

"I have improved I think..." She stated and I nodded my head. I was happy on the inside, glad that I could help them in some way.

"How so?" I asked with a faint smile on my face as I sat down. I placed my belongings on the table.

"I currently have a crush on a girl." She bursted, and I stared at her in shock. I glanced at Alanna to see the split second of dread on her face.

It quickly disappeared and I glanced back at Sonya who was smiling like the world depended on it.

"On who." I asked.

"Not saying." She sang and I rolled my eyes. Oh course Sonya would do something like this. It's expected that she would.

"Okay. But could you tell us a bit about them Sonya. It might help with the internalised homophobia."

"Well, she's really nice. And she makes me feel special and that I'm worth something, you know? She gives me butterflies when she texts me and she's literally so nice. She's one of the nicest people you will ever meet." She said and you could see the dreamy look on her face when she spoke of this girl.

I hope I don't look like that when I talk about Quinn or when I talked about my crush on her.

"That's... that's really nice Sonya. I'm proud of you." I said and I meant it. I am proud of her. I knew it took a lot of time to accept yourself and it took me years.

"Trust me, you would really like her." She stated.

We continued talking for the next ten minutes and I couldn't help but notice Alanna. The way she was acting. She was more quiet than usual and the face she made earlier.

Alanna for sure likes Sonya. Alanna acted like how I would react if Diana liked someone and told me. Especially how I would act if Diana and I were friends when she told me.

She looked like she was crushed when Sonya stated her crush. She looked like she was in a lot of pain but couldn't express it. I might have a special talk with her later about it. I don't want her to go through the heartbreak alone.

She needs someone to talk about it. But I won't force her to confess or even ask her directly about it. I want her to tell me on her own will.

It's pretty obvious that she likes Sonya.

"Have you seen Zendaya. I don't know whenever I like her or want to be her." Sonya stated and that knocked me out of my train of thought.

I chuckled at her statement.

"God, that's every woman loves women person. It's a constant struggle." I commented. "That's me with every celebrity crush ever."

"I know right. Like why are they so pretty." She continued and I nodded along with her statement. "Like why are they goddesses?"

"God clearly had favourites," I joked and they both laughed at my joke. It made things a little better that I made Alanna laugh when she seemed to be in pain.

Sorry I havent updated in a while. Been busy getting diagnosed and catching up with school work. Recently got diagnosed with autism. And I've just been very stressed. So sadly, there won't be any regular updates for a while :(
