Franco

We headed north on the soul-thread Blake followed, and I hoped all had gone to plan. I hoped my friend had not guessed what I'd done. His powers had been weakened since he'd allowed humanity into his soul, but I hoped this would work in my favour. He could not find out—not yet. If he found out now, it could be catastrophic. I was taking a big risk in helping the witch. I had known Sam was the one the moment he'd refused to kill the girl. Seline Archibald had only confirmed this as she'd told me of how she'd watched them fall in love.

The reaper in love.

That's why she'd fixed the shadow sword, so it would keep him from the eternal depths of hell.

The witch was powerful; one of the ancient Waterhouse line. I knew I could leave her to fix them both, no matter how long it took. We had already waited centuries for the prophesy to deliver. What was a few more years?

"Franco! Andiamo!"

I glowered at Blake. I just hoped the time would pass quickly. Sam's weakened state had allowed for Blake to take control over the coven's senses. He was powerful, but not as Sam had been. Ben was not happy about the exchange. He'd been able to cover up the anarchic lifestyle of Blake and Jules when Sam was our dominant. But now, who knew what he'd face as Watchman? Who knew what we'd all face in the age of the prophesy?

As I walked into the dark alley, in the shadow of Blake's power and the absence of my brother, Samael, I sent my friend a silent thought: "Perdonami amico." Forgive me, friend.

Thank you SO much for reading Saving Death. This book is one close to my heart and a dream come true to have it out in the world. It was originally published with Oftomes, but when the company shut down, Ava and Sam were put on the shelf (no pun intended haha!) so I was left with a decision to let them gather dust or to shove them back out into the world.... So here they are and I hope you enjoyed their tale!

Please, please, please vote for the chapters if you feel the need to express your love for Ava and Sam and share the story with friends and family if you feel inclined! Any of these acts, great or small, can give me a huge helping hand on my journey to becoming a more established author. Thank you, thank you and thank you again! Rosy xx

PS) If you're already desperate to find out what happens next, check out the sequel, Living Death.
