Moving On

Hailee's POV

Both Y/N and I were dumbfounded to see the actual President of the United States standing in front of us.

"Thank you Mr. President, it is an honour to meet you." I say as we shake hands.

"No Miss Steinfeld, the honour is ours. Please, let us have a seat at this table to discuss a very important matter." President Kirkman says. We nod and follow him to the table nearby and sit down after him.

"Excellent. First off, I would like to apologize on behalf of the entire Bureau for what you two have been through during the entire ordeal. There is no place in our great nation for what I have witnessed today; it is the whole reason why we have the constitution today." Mr. Kirkman says, looking at us with great sadness.

"Thank you, sir. We appreciate it, truly." Y/N says.

"Of course. That's the least I could do. Mrs. Garza, you must understand, was only trying to do what she felt was best for the nation by keeping our defense and intelligence strong. While I do not approve of her methods, we must recognize her patriotism and her determination to serve this country. Now as such that her position is vacant, I would like to ask you for permission and I want to stress that you have the right to refuse, so do not be afraid to do so. Hailee, I would like nominate and appoint your father as the new executive director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and your mother as the Assistant Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, but only if you agree." The President asks, smiling softly at me.

"I appreciate you giving the opportunity to share my feelings. That means a lot to me, after not being able to see my parents the way a child a should, throughout my childhood. But I also recognize it would selfish of me to hold them back from their dreams and passion, which is to serve their country and preserve the peace for future generations. Therefore, Mr. President, I would be honoured to have them named to those aforementioned roles." I say.

"Thank you. I appreciate your kinds words and remarks. Your parents will be nominated shortly, but until then, I ask that you keep it a surprise."

"Yes, of course." I say, with Y/N nodding in agreement.

"I'm glad to hear that. One final thing my government would like to do for the both of you is to offer you two the unconditional support and funding of your next album. We have spoken with your new record label and the agreement has been modified and prepared accordingly, awaiting your signatures to be signed at your leisure."

"We really appreciate that sir. Words cannot express the gratitude that Hailee and I possess for your actions. Truly, this is an honour." Y/N says.

"Both of you deserve this, as well this was a cultivation of your parent's efforts and dedication to this nation. Just do me one favour."

"Anything Sir."

"Make sure you both nail it." He says, smiling widely.

"Can do Sir. Thank you so much." Y/N says.
