Two people lead two different paths, one is a super star, the other, a nobody. Yet, despite being polar opposites, they will meet when all the stars align. The real question is, can they stay together?
"Kelly." Kelly immediately shoots up from her chair and rushes over to embrace me in a hug.
"Let's go win this!" She exclaims. I take a quick glance at the rest of the coaches and notice the hurt expression on Hailee's face. Once Kelly releases me from her embrace, I work my way over to the remaining coaches and given them a hug one by one. When I reached Hailee, I felt her lips close to my ear and heard her whisper.
"Why?"
"Cause you told me not be cliche." I reply softly.
"Touche, I guess I'll see in the competition." She says, smiling lightly at me as I sauntered off stage. A few hours later, after everyone had gone through, the coaches came back to join us before splitting up in to our teams. Once each contestant found their coach, we made our way to the back room designated for Kelly.
"Alright, first of all, I would like to thank each and every one of you for coming in to participate in the show and for choosing to join my team", she pauses for a round of applause, "Secondly, it's time for you to meet my assistant coach and good friend, Demi Lovato!" We let out an audible gasp as Demi walks in smiling and gives Kelly a small hug.

"Hi guys and girls! Thank you for having me! It was amazing to hear all of your voices out there! We're gonna be the best team ever!"
"Alright, it's time to split you up for the battle rounds.
"First off, Jamie and Ben! You two will be singing Skyscraper! Next up, I've got Audrey and Y/N! You two ladies will be singing Sound of Your Heart Beating by Shawn Hook!" The rest I didn't hear because I zoned out after she announced that I was going up against Audrey.
"And that's everyone! I'll take the first group and Demi will take the second group. The rest of you, if you don't mind, find your partner and practice amongst yourself in here." Kelly says. Audrey and I follow Demi in to a room marked 'Studio 2'.
"That was amazing! You girls nailed it!" She exclaims after two hours of practicing and glaring at each other.
"Thanks Demi. I'll see you tonight?" I ask.
"Yup, for more practice!" She says. I nod excitedly before I head out replaying the lyrics in my head. I meet up with Meg in the lobby before heading back to my house to get more practice time in.
"So, what song are you singing?"
"Sound of Your Heart Beating by Shawn Hook. And of all people, I have to go up against Audrey."
"WHAT? That bitch!? She can sing?"
"My thoughts exactly. But apparently she can and well. It's gonna be tough Meg, maybe I should have gone with Hailee."
"No no, you made the right choice. Can you imagine the look on her face when you eliminate her in the first battle round? It'll be priceless!" She says.
