Two people lead two different paths, one is a super star, the other, a nobody. Yet, despite being polar opposites, they will meet when all the stars align. The real question is, can they stay together?
For a split second, you could hear a pin drop in the room. I watched closely as Hailee's face turned from one of surprise to an ear to ear grin.
"Yes, I will. But after the competition is over." She says. I nod happily and connect our lips together for the first time. We don't separate until air becomes an issue. I take one of her hands in mine while I pull the call bell with the other to alert a nurse or doctor.
"Is there a problem- Oh! Miss Steinfeld, you're awake!?" A nurse says as she walks in to the room.
"Yes I am, thank you."
"Do you feel any pain?"
"All over."
"That's normal Miss Steinfeld, considering the injuries you had upon admission. Speaking of which, Doctor Peters would like to see you." The nurse says.
"Of course. Is it serious?" Hailee says, taking my hand in hers.
"Unfortunately, I have absolutely no idea. I'll go notify him right away, he shouldn't be long." The nurse says before leaving the room. We didn't speak during our wait for there was no need as we enjoyed each other's company.
"Hello ladies, it's nice to see you awake Miss Steinfeld. I'm Doctor Peters."
"Thank you doctor for helping me."
"It was my pleasure, but you only have your body to thank as it was the one who did all the hard work of healing. I've also discovered something on one of your scans that I need to ask you about. Have you had any sexual relations with any one in the last few days?" Hailee takes a deep breath while looking visibly more nervous.
"Yes, my ex but we did it with protection."
"Miss Steinfeld, I'm afraid that that was not the case. Our scans show that you've just become pregnant." Dr. Peters says, producing an image.

"Oh my god! Is he or she okay?"
"Calm down Hailee, your baby is completely healthy. Although I would advise you to have a checkup every month."
"Thank you Doctor."
"You're very welcome and congratulations! On a different note, judging by your condition, I'm going to discharge you. You may leave in the morning." He says before heading out of the room. I felt Hailee's pulse quicken as the door to her room clicked shut.
"What do I do Y/N? I'm not ready for a baby!" I gently took her shaking hands in mine.
"Well, first things first, you have to let Shawn know that he's expecting a child. Then, start preparing for the baby because I know that you'll make a great mother. And no matter what, remember that I'll always be by your side." I say as I put my arms around her.
"But the baby's isn't Shawn's or even Cameron's. I lied to the doctor, Y/N. I couldn't bear to tell the truth as it kept bring back bad memories and nightmares." Tears started dripping down her face as she spoke.
