Two people lead two different paths, one is a super star, the other, a nobody. Yet, despite being polar opposites, they will meet when all the stars align. The real question is, can they stay together?
"Both. I think Y/N has higher potential than Audrey and she has what it takes to become successful. But then Audrey has the better voice and more experience as a singer." Nick says.
"That settles it, both it is. Let's bring them back." Kelly says. Nick nods and heads off to fetch our selected artists. A few minutes pass before the first one enters.
Y/N's POV
I couldn't believe that Nick had just announced that I had been selected to stay. As I waited for my turn, I felt jitters in my stomach knowing that Hailee and the rest of the judges would have listen to my ugly voice again.
"Y/N?" Nick calls.
"Here!" I raise my hand and follow him back to the green room.
"Listen, I just want you to know that I saw the way you looked at Hailee and the way that she admired you. During our deliberations, she made sure to put her in vote for you despite the other contestant having the better voice. You clearly mean a lot to her, so get out there and kill it!" Nick says, handing me a mic and an in ear.
"Thanks Nick." I say, giving him a small smile. Taking a deep breath, I push open the door to the audition room.
"Hi Y/N! Welcome back!" Hailee greets.
"Thanks Hailee, it's really an honor to be back." I say.
"What are you going to sing for us this time?" Adam asks, encouragingly.
"Uh, well, this is awkward since I had no idea that Hailee was going to be a coach. But here goes, Hell No's and Headphones." I say, lightly blushing.
"Aw, that's alright. Just to let you know Y/N, you'll only have a background track playing this time. Do you have any instruments you wish to play while you sing?" Hailee asks.
"No, just vocals."
"Alright then, good luck." I nod and wait for the music to begin. Once it does, I close my eyes and let the beat flow through my body, singing as if I'm still at home practicing with Meg. As I trail off on the final note, I slowly flutter open my eyes to see the four coaches with wide eyes and gaping mouths.

"Holy...." Kelly trails off.
"Words can't describe how amazing that was Y/N. You did that song better than I could have ever done." Hailee says, leading the coaches in a big round of applause.
"Listen Y/N, I have been a coach on this show since it's inauguration eight years ago and I have never done this, until now anyways, " Adam pauses to look at the other coaches who all give him supportive nods, "Your spot on the show is guaranteed. Congratulations Y/N!"
"Oh my god, thank you so much!" I exclaim, attempting to hold back my tears. I give the coaches a hug, including an extra long one for Hailee, before they address me more time.
