Y/N's POV
I thought about what Meagan had said as Hailee slept, taking it to heart. As I admire my sleeping beauty, an idea suddenly pops in my head.
"Hey Meg, could you keep Hailee company for me? I've got a trick up my sleeve that I'm going to pull out." I say.
"You got it." She agrees, grinning. Smiling, I rise from my seat and scurry out the door, excited to to put my plan in to action.
Meagan's POV
I couldn't help but wonder what my best friend had in mind as I watch her hurriedly rush out the door wearing a smile wider than I have ever seen. While I waited for the time to pass, I decided to pull out my phone and browse my social media.
"What are you up to?" A small voice suddenly asks causing me nearly to drop my phone. Surprised, I swing my head around to see Hailee staring back at me with red, puffy eyes.
"Haiz, are you feeling better?" I ask. She nods, then looks at the ground, tears threatening to fall.
"S-she left, didn't she?"
"Hailee, why would you think that? You know she loves you more than anything. If she could give you the world, she would! Don't be so hard on yourself, there are always hurdles in a loving and caring relationship and this is one of them. She's just gone home to get some rest and should be back soon." I say.
"Thank you Meagan, I hope you're right. Could you get me a piece of paper and a pen?" She asks out of the blue. I nod and retrieve those items from the nursing desk.
"Are you good at songwriting by any chance? I've got some ideas, but I don't know if they'll work in a song." She says.
"I can't say I've done songwriting before, but I can certainly give it a shot." Her face lights up with a small smile as she begins to jot down ideas on the piece of paper. As she does, I absentmindedly hum a tune, which apparently had an effect on her brainstorming. By the end of the next two hours, the paper had been filled with words and scribbles.
"Wow, I can't believe this!"
"What can't you believe Hailee?" I ask.
"T-this song. I've never felt like this writing a song before. It just feels so new, but so good." She says, causing me to smile.
"That, my friend, is called love." She nods and begins to vocalize what she had written down. It sounded phenomenonal despite it being so raw and not recorded in a studio.
"That was beautiful and awe inspiring. Do you have name in mind?" I ask.
"No, not yet. I want Y/N to feature on the track with me. After all, this song wouldn't have come to life without her." As she takes a photo of the lyric sheet, the door opens to reveal a nurse with a form in her hand.
