"Taehyung," stuttered Jimin receiving everyone's attention when the boy looked up, his face becoming ghostly pale, his lips forming Jimin's name, but someone pushed through past Jimin grabbing a sword from one of the guards jumping between Jin and Taehyung swiftly.
"Are you this filthy bitch who had left him in a forest for certain death!" Jungkook's voice has never been so scary, Jimin felt sweat drops rolling down his back when Jungkook raised the sword.
"Please please don't kill me!" Shouted Taehyung covering his head with his arms.
"Pieces of shit like you don't deserve to live," hissed Jungkook through clenched teeth spinning the sword but Jimin ran forward covering Taehyung with his own body feeling the blade cutting the air inches from his chest.
"Jimin! What are you doing! I could have killed you!" Yelled Jungkook drooping the sword.
"No matter what he has done he has been my friend, has taken care of me after mum died. Just let him live," whispered Jimin.
"Can you maybe explain what's going on here?" Asked Jin.
"You're so naive Jimin, sometimes I'd..." Jungkook clenched his fists sighing loudly.
"What?" Jimin looked him straight in the eyes.
"I'd tell you so off, but then I remember that you're just a little fox hybrid with a too big heart for this fucked up world," Jungkook lifted his palm caressing over Jimin's cheek in an electrifying way.
"I'm still waiting for explanations," muttered Jin.
Instead of explaining Jungkook suddenly started to walk disappearing between the stunned crowd when Jimin wished to hide so badly but the shaman's gaze rested on him.
"Taehyung had been my friend for many years," whispered Jimin.
"What has he done to you?" Jin's question caused goosebumps on Jimin's skin.
"That's all past, insignificant past rights now," Jimin began to walk towards the crowd.
"I need to know," Jin's tone was sharp.
Jimin sighed looking from him to the curled up Taehyung.
"As I had said it's all insignificant pas..."
"I have abandoned him in the haunted forest during the coldest night this century hoping he will die there," said Taehyung when his words were like cuts in Jimin's heart.
"You wanted to harm an innocent being," Jin's face darkened.
"King Namjoon has legalized hybrid hunting. Soon he will definitely order to kill all hybrids in the land. I needed my reputation, I was so close to the ritual. I couldn't have been seen being befriend with a hybrid, could I?" Taehyung looked at Jin. "I mean if you would throw out a dog or a hybrid it's the same, although a dog is definitely worth more and has a higher social status..."
Taehyung's words were so sharp and painful Jimin ran through the crowd feeling cold tears staining his face. Of course, that was what people thought about him, even shaman Jin, right? All people apart from Jungkook. Or was Jungkook just hiding his real motives to receive pleasures?
Jungkook was leaning against a tree watching the crowd with furious eyes but his gaze softened the second it fell on Jimin, who stopped to run stumbling his way, drying his face with his sleeves.
"That's why you should have allowed me to kill him," said Jungkook but Jimin just cuddled to him crying into his clothes.
Jungkook's strong arms wrapped around him protectively.
"I don't get why people hate us so much," Jimin felt new tears coming.
"People hate all living beings including themselves, we're just twisted," Jungkook sighed.
"Do you also hate everything existing including hybrids?" Jimin looked up into Jungkook's eyes.
"I used to hate myself the most, but now the hate is constantly replaced by so much more," Jungkook caressed his thumbs down Jimin's face.
They were watching each other, Jimin feeling like drowning when Jungkook leaned in to peck his lips then pulled him to his warm body. They were just standing there when villagers began to spread out between tents most giving them gloomy looks. Jimin knew how much Jungkook was risking treating him like that in front of others, showing so much affection towards a hybrid. Maybe Jungkook really liked him at least a bit, Jimin hoped.
"I canceled the ceremony," said Jin coming their way. "The boy doesn't possess the right treats for a magician."
Jimin's heart began to beat loudly. So Taehyung's dream really crushed because of him.
"Shaman Jin," Jimin freed himself off Jungkook's hug. "Please don't punish him, he has all the skills to become a magician."
"Skills are one thing, having a heart is way more important," Jin lowered his head walking towards his tent when Jimin felt another tear.
Taehyung will hate him forever, but he was just an ordinary human not someone special like Jungkook, so he was behaving like all the others, treating hybrids like nothing.
"Jungkook please speak to shaman Jin, convince him to change his mind," begged Jimin.
"That bitch should learn the hard way, come you need some rest," Jungkook's tone changed to sharp.
Jimin was trembling following Jungkook to their tent feeling so uneasy, no matter what Taehyung had said and done he didn't want him to fail his dream.
