"Come on Mel, we have to go!" Alice yelled from the bathroom. "It's the first party of the year."

"I'm not the party type Alice," Melody yelled back, flopping her body onto her soft bed, "and parties normally lead to no good."

Alice had been trying to get her roomie to agree to go to this party all day, and a few upperclassmen had been planning for weeks and finally put out initiation all over the dorm rooms. Though Melody wanted a break from what was going on around her, she didn't like the idea of going out into the night and parting with people she didn't know.

Alice popped her head out of the bathroom door, "Just this once? You'll have so much fun."

"Okay fine you win, but just this once Alice. I mean it." Melody slid to her feet, giving into Alice's pleads.

Looking into her dresser, rustling around trying to find what to wear, but Melody frowned. Besides the outfit she wore the day she came to the school and a few jeans, shirts and pj's that Leslie had sent, she didn't really have much that was worthy of being party material. Melody just closed the drawers and agreed to wear what she had on already, plus it would take no time at all to just put on shoes.

Alice came out of the bathroom wearing a button up blue blouse that matched her eyes perfectly and jeans. Her hair was pulled back into a high ponytail with two little strands of hair by her ears and she had put red lipstick on making her icy blue eyes pop even more. Alice looked up and down Melody like she was crazy.

"That's what you're wearing?" She pointed at Melody, disappointed. "No way I'm letting you go to a party undressed. I got the perfect thing for you."

Melody rolled her eyes at Alice's remark and smiled knowing that her roommate would be prepared for her to agree to go.

Alice walked over and handed Melody a ball of clothes from her closet and pushed her into the bathroom, slamming the door close. "Let me see how it looks, aye mate?"

Melody looked at the pile of clothes that were in her hands. There was a pair of black jeans ripped at the knees and a sparkly silver tank-top. She wasn't the one one wanted to be flashy, but she knew that Alice would probably shove her into it even if she told her she didn't want to wear it. Melody looked at the outfit while rolling her eyes with a smirk and immediately put them on. After Melody finished getting ready she walked out of the bathroom, curious to know what she looked like.

"How do I look?" Melody asked Alice, who was fixing her shirt.

"You look like you're ready to dance the night away." Alice said eyeing her roomie up and down.

"You really think so? It's not too showy is it?"

Alice smiled, "You looked fine, Mel. Trusted me."

Melody looked at herself in the mirror, not sure if what she would expect at a party in the supernatural world. But then again she thought that it would be a good distraction for her and Alice. They needed it and mostly she did.

Suddenly there was a knock at the door, both their heads turned toward it.

"That must be Lixia. She wasn't sure if you were going, so she decided to come pick me up on her way out." Alice smiled as she walked up to the door and opened it. "But I told her not to worry about it."

But as she did the person there wasn't Lixia, but someone unexpected.

"Xyla what are you doing here?!" Melody said, surprised to see her.

Alice looked over to Melody and wiggled her eyebrows with a big smile planted on her face. Melody rolled her eyes at her gesture.

Xyla rubbed the back of her neck and answered shyly, "Alice asked me to join you guys at the party." She eyed Melody up and down.

"She did, did she?" Melody said under her breath annoyed, but blushing at Xyla's comment.

"Anyways, you two should be going." Alice said pushing Melody out the door. "I need to finish up a few things."

Melody looked side eyed Alice. "Can I talk to you for a minute? Excuse me Xyla."

"Okay. Sur..." Xyla said, but Melody had cut her off with slamming the door.

Melody spun around quickly and scolded Alice.

"Alice how could you!", Melody yelled softly so that Xyla wouldn't hear. "You know I can't. I don't have time for dating, plus with the mission."

Alice quickly snapped back with an eye roll, "This is part of the mission. You can get more in tell about the lives of Ice Elves." Alice reached over behind Melody for the door again and smiled. "Just think, maybe this will be a good way for you to stop stressing about your magic. Just try, okay?"

Melody really wanted to try, but could she? She bit her bottom lip thinking about what could possibly go wrong.

"Okay you're right." Melody admitted. "But this is a bit embarrassing, but-", she stuttered, "but I've never been on a date before. What do I say? What do I do?"

Alice's jaw dropped, "Wait, what!"

"Don't look at me like that." Melody squeaked as she covered her eyes ashamed, "I'm already embarrassed."

"Don't worry you're going to be fine. Just ask about her and seem interested in her." Alice pushed the door open, "just have fun. We start D.P tomorrow and who knows when we'll have a night like this again."

Melody wasn't sure if she could go through with this, but she knew that there was no way Alice was going to let her out of this ridiculous plan.

When the door opened Xyla had disappeared and Rowan had replaced where she had been standing.

"Hey ya," Rowan smiled

"Wait where is Xyla?" Alice asked looking up and down the hallway. "She was just here a minute ago."

Melody smiled in relief.

He shrugged, "I saw her running off. She looked like she was going to vomit."

"Well that sucks." Melody sarcastically. They each side eyed her remark. "I mean, I hope that she's okay."

"Crap, that was the only shot we had at getting answers about Elves." Alice huffed.

"Oof!" Melody huffed.

"Girls, girls." Rowan said as he rapped his arm around both their shoulders. "Lets just have fun tonight. We'll have plenty of opportunities to talk to her. It's not like she is going to disappear into thin air."

Alice and Melody looked at each other and knotted in agreement, and he was right. They needed to relax. They smiled to each other and walked out the dorm building. It was time for Melody to get her party on!

The music swept over Melody as they inched closer to the entrance to the party door. When they entered, the intoxicating faery music moved through their cores, vibrating their souls. People throbbed precisely with every beat.

"Wow!" Melody awed at the blinding rainbow of lights overhead.

"Sick, right?" Rowan smiled. "I've only been to a few fae parties with music like this."

Alice sighed, "Yeah, but be cautious my kind still tends to pull tricks on humans, even if you're a half-blood."

Melody knotted. "And won't drink anything." said Alice pointing to the punch-bowls on a table a few feet away.

Melody was watching the other feas and Magicalians dancing on the floor.

Seeing Melody's eye glued to the dance floor Rowan yelled over the music blasting around the group, "How about we get our asses on the dance floor!" he said, quickly grabbed both girls' hands and pulled them deeper into the dancing crowd.

"Yeah!" Alice agreed

"I'm not big of a dancer, guys." Melody added.

"Don't sweat it Mel, I think you'll be fine."

Rowan, Alice, and Melody reached the center of the crowd and started to dance. Alice did some ridiculous random moves.
