The room was lovely and full of flowery plants. It was like being in a small garden, better yet a greenhouse. There were two full sized beds that had flowers coming down the bed's headstand. The air smelled like fresh Jasmine after a summer rain. It was peaceful.

Melody also noticed that Alice was wearing a white dress with a pink floral pattern that came to her mid thigh, behind her a black robe flowed down to her feet. The robe was black and had a lime green trim.

"Sorry about the flowers. They remind me of home." Alice said holding a red rose.

"Oh where are you from?" Melody asked, sitting down on one of the beds.

"I'm from Austral but I moved here about a year ago. I found out about my family's magical history and started school here."

"So, I guess your parents didn't tell you that you were a witch too." Melody looked down as she spoke.

"Actually, I'm only half witch and half Samodiva." Alice smiled and sat on the other bed.

Melody was unfamiliar with the word Samodiva.

Seeing Melody's face Alice added: "My mother is a Samodiva. Basically, she's a woodland fairy. People in the human world think that we're evil, and a bunch of other stuff. Ya, there are some Samodiva evil, but that was a long time ago. Most Samodivas are actually quite nice these days, but you don't want to get on our bad side." She laughed. "So I'm guessing you're a witch. My dad is, well a wizard. I got his magical genetics and my mother's beauty. That's why I'm here."

"Ya, my mother was a witch. She told me all about this two days ago. I thought she was crazy." Melody let a giggle out. "And here I am."

"Typical parents," Alice shook her head as she went to the window.

Melody could feel the sun as Alice opened the curtains. The sunlight brightened the room with yellow lights. It was refusing. Alice looked into the window with one hand up against the glass, looking out to see the woods. Alice missed home in the forest and all the woodland creachers

"Classes start in about fifty minutes. Do you need to unpack?" Alice turned to see Melody.

Melody didn't need to unpack. She only had a bag full of books. She thought she'd just leave them here until class started. All she wanted was to explore the school.

"No, I just wanted to see where my classes are. Since I'm new to this." Melody asked.

Alice put her hand on her hip and placed her other at Melody, hoping to get a look at her schedule.

"Let me see."

"Here." Melody said and handed the paper.

Alice looked surprised. She realized that they had all the same classes.

"Wow! We have the same classes, that's a coinkydink," Alice said.

"What? Really!"

Melody ran up to Alice to see for herself.

"Guess, we'll be studied-buddies as well as roommates this year," She smiled at Melody. " See for yourself."

Alice walked over to her side of the room, where there was a tiny desk in the wall. She picked up her class schedule to show Melody that she wasn't lying.

"See." Alice said putting the two papers together

Melody scanned the two papers in her hands. Alice wasn't lying. They had all the same classes.

"Wow. Do all the first years get the same classes as their roommates?" Melody looked up to Alice.

"No. They might get one or two classes together but I haven't seen anyone have all." A huge smile appeared on her face.

Alice noticed Melody's necklace.

"That's a beauty. Where did you get it?" She reached to get a better look, but the necklace zapped her hand away.

"Ouch! I guess that's your heirloom." Alice put her finger in her mouth.

Melody forgot all about her heirloom. But why did it zap Alice?

"Sorry, I didn't mean to." Melody thought she might have done something.

"It's not your fault, heirlooms do that to keep others from taking them." Alice looked at her bruised finger. "It's cool that you have a heirloom."

"What do you mean? Don't you have one?" Melody raised an eyebrow.

"Only Magicalians from the human world have them. Both my parents are Magicalians." Alice said, putting a lock of hair behind her ear.

"We should be going, if you want to look around campus." Alice headed to the door.

The two girls walked around campus. As they walked around, Melody noticed that many students were already up and heading to their classes. Melody thought maybe they needed to go as well, but Alice kept walking and Melody didn't want to be left behind. First Alice showed her where their classes were. Then they headed to the cafeteria where breakfast was being severed.

As they entered Melody noticed there were a lot of different types of Magicalians. Melody looked around, seeing a few sitting at tables eating their breakfast. Alice took Melody to the fruit stand.

"I'm starving." Alice said looking at the assorted fruits in the cart.

Melody wasn't hungry, being that she already ate before coming. Alice grabbed an apple and a pear as they passed the fruit cart. Everyone was looking at them when they exited the room. Were they looking at her?

"Class starts in about ten minutes. We can go back to the room if you want." Alice said with delight.

"Sure, if you don't mind." Melody smiled.

Alice led Melody back to their dorm. Before they walked into the girl dorms, a guy with blond hair stopped them in their tracks.

"Hey Alice." He said, looking at Melody.

He was wearing a black pants, gray shirt and brown dress shoes, behind him his robe wiped into the air. He looked like a rich movie star.

"Hi, Seabass. This is Melody. She just started today and I'm showing her around school." Alice said, placing her hand in Melody's direction. "He's an old friend of mine. We grow up together."

"It's Sebastian. Alice is the only one that calls me that. You fall into water one time when a fish jumps out in front of you." He pushed Alice's shoulder in a playfully way.

Melody put her hand out to meet his, "Nice to meet you, Sebastian."

"Wait, are you the girl that was attacked by the Snatchers?" Sebastian's hazel eyes widened.

"How did you know?" Melody asked.

How did he know about that? Was he there when it happened?
