Melody grabbed her mother's hand.
"I think someone is watching us. Look over by the pet stop," Melody whispered tilting her head a little to the left.
Seeing that nothing was there Melody's Mother reassured her, "No ones there sweetie. You must have seen something else." Melody looked back to where the eyes had been watching her, but they had disappeared into the shadows.
Melody and her Mother kept walking in the direction of the book store, but Melody still felt like someone was watching her every movement. As they strolled she would look back now and then to see if she could spot the one who was watching, but still, she found nothing.
The two of them came to a stop at the entrance of a building whose sign above the door read "Booken's Book Store and News Papers". Melody was so excited to look for some books from the supernatural world.
"Let's go in." Her mother had joy and excitement in her blue eyes.
"Let's go!" She said cautiously, remembering that there was something watching in the street.
Walking into the bookstore Melody began to drift off into the shelves filled with books, looking for something interesting. She could spend hours in bookstores just looking for a good read. Seeing all the books in the store made her want to explore the shelves that they were placed on even more.
There were books about all different types of supernaturals, witchs, Elves, Vampires, Werewolves, Fairies, Mermaids and other ones she couldn't even decipher.
"Wow! There are a lot of books here to read," Melody said amazed.
She grabbed the two books that had interested her the most. The first book was titled "Simple spells for beginner's witchry", which had a note stating "only for elves and witchs", at the bottom of the cover. The second book was titled "The different types of Magicalians." She grabbed this book too for: one- knowing some spells and for: two- to know what was considered a Magicalian.
"There you are! I knew you would be looking for books up here. Did you find anything good?" Her mother already holding a handful of textbooks and spell notebooks.
"Ya, I was thinking I could start studying some simple things, before hitting the hard stuff," she said, showing her mother the two books she had been holding in her arms.
"Good choices. Let's go to the counter, to check out. These books are super heavy."
Melody grabbed a few of the books, "Let me help you mom."
After checking out the books, the two of them began walking back up the path. They came to a white building that had beautiful and colorful robes in the windows.
"Come on! I'm so excited for you to meet Lydia! She is going to love meeting you and I bet you will love her too." Melody's mother looked at her reflection in the glass. Noticing a misplaced strand of her hair, she pulled it back into her bun and smiled while entering the establishment.
As they walked into the building there was a loud bell sound.
"Welcome to Lydia's Robes and Capes," A lady with long red hair said; eyes remaining glued to the robe she was sewing.
"How may I help you?" At last looking up from her work, a wide smile grew across her face.
"Serene, is that you? I know those lovely ice blue eyes and smile anywhere. It's been a long time."
Lydia walked up and grasped Melody's mother in a tight hug. Melody noticed she was wearing a light blue flowery shirt with black dress pants. Melody could see that one of her eyes was cat-eye yellow and the other silvery gray. She had pale white skin and pink cheeks. She was beautiful, magical even.
