Melody's heart began to race; her palms were sweaty. Was the news about what happened already out to the public? Melody didn't want anyone to treat her differently because of the incident. Swallowing hard she opened her mouth to ask more about what Sebastian knew but was interrupted by Alice.
"Sebastian!" Alice elbowed Sebastian in the side.
"Ouch. What's that for?" He rubbed the spot where she had hit him. "I was only being friendly," he winced out through the pain.
"Well stop it. I don't think she wants to talk about that, especially not to you." Alice gave him a scolding glance. "Come on. Let's make sure we have everything before class starts."
Alice seized Melody's arm and wrenched her back to their room. Melody didn't know what to think or say; she thought she should thank her or at least say something, instead of having stood there watching. Melody didn't know why Alice intervened, but she was happy she did. Still, what was Sebastian's deal? He sounded so happy, so excited, so thrilled when he asked; Why did he want to know?
Melody put the thought aside as soon as Alice dragged her into their room and slammed the door behind them. Alice leaned up against it and crossed her arms.
"Sorry about him, mate. We were told not to bombard you with questions, but like always, Sebastian is the first one to not listen," Alice said, rolling her eyes.
"It's not your fault," Melody replied kindly as she walked over to her bed and picked up the bundle of books sitting on it.
Alice uncrossed her arms and walked deeper into the room.
"I really hope he got the message. If anyone bothers you with questions, let me know-" Alice paused.
Alice had heard all the details about the attack in the Enchanted Forest. She knew that a person died there and easily connected that it must have been Melody's mother. The same thing happened to Alice; she knew how it felt to lose someone you loved.
"I think I have everything, I would like to get to class early." Melody faced Alice.
Melody noticed Alice was looking down at her feet as she glanced waiting for a response.
"Is everything okay?" Melody asked.
"It's Nothing," Alice replied heading to the door "Yeah, we should be going; class starts in five minutes and Professor Picsion isn't one to mess with when it comes to tardiness."
Melody and Alice walked to the main building where most classes were held. The hallways were crowded with an abundance of people which made it hard for Melody to follow Alice to class. Now and then Melody would get gobbled up in the crowd and would have to shove her way through to find Alice's white figure. Alice suddenly darted into the classroom and Melody quickly followed her in.
After surviving the mob of students in the hallway, Melody was panting from exhaustion. It was way too much work trying to get to her class; no wonder some students had clearly thought ahead and got to class fifteen minutes beforehand.
After her breathing returned to normal, Melody followed Alice into a row of desks. Alice took a seat.
"You can sit next to me," Alice said, patting the seat next to her.
Melody took the seat that was offered to her and placed her thick textbook on it. Looking around the classroom, Melody logged that there were about ten other students lingering around. A few of them were talking to each other in the entrance while some were putting notebooks on their desks. Others were minding their own business and seemed zoned out into their own world.
