????

She stared at her masterpiece, backing up as she held the spray cans in her hand lazily, swinging then between her fingertips.

She glared the the walls, tilting her head as she struggled to figure out what her drawing even was. It was just a spray of cyan and purple jumbled together, like a splash of paint. Even though all the lights were turned off, she could still very clearly see the neon cyan and purple that stained the wall.

She leaned back, collapsing onto the chair behind her as she closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She dropped the cans to the floor before reaching up to unhook her mask. She stared down at her mask as locks of bright yellow hair covered her eyesight. She squeezed her mask, crushing it. She watched as it slowly liquified, returning to ink as it was absorbed into her pale skin. Her nails turned black, gleaming like they were just freshly painted.

Quickly, she grabbed the purple spray can and painted a small hair clip onto the wall. She reached forwards and grabbed it, turning the drawing into a 3D object. She ran her fingers through her hair, brushing it before clipping a large strand out of her face.

She looked at her painting one last time before turning around and exiting the room. She winced slightly at the bright light of the halls. Her eyes quickly adjusted to the sudden brightness, processing everything.

The walls were painted white, the complete opposite of the room she was just in. The floor was made a similar color wood, most likely birch. the scent of freshly baked apple pie filled the air. She took a quick whiff, relaxing as she walked towards the source.

As she walked closer, she could see a small kitchen with marble counters. There, a small pie sat untouched, still smoking.

"Oh, hello Sunset! It seems like your finally done moping! Do tell me you turned the lights on this time? I don't need you losing your eyesight, that shit expensive to fix." A kind, raspy voice said.

Sunset turned to her left to see a small old woman holding another pie in her hands. The woman smiled softly before ushering her to the table. Once she took a seat, the woman handed her a plate before sitting down next to her.

Sunset nodded her head before signing, Thank you.

"Oh it's nothing child! If anything, I should be the one thanking you! After all, you're the only one that not only visits me daily, you also happily eat my pies!" She said, waving her hand at her before digging into her own slice.

Sunset simply nodded, watching the woman through the corner of her eyes as she dug her fork unto her slice.

The woman had beautiful chocolate skin with matching brown eyes. She was extremely beautiful, her beauty not even fading slightly as she aged. She barely had any wrinkles and looked full of life. She had puffy black hair.

She brought her fork into her mouth, smiling bitterly at the lack of taste.

Oh, how she missed being able to taste things.

"So child, did you paint anything new? You spent an awfully long time in there this time."

Sunset shoved a fork full of pie in her mouth before answering. Yeah, I guess.

She raised her eyebrows slightly.

Well, what I mean is, it isn't really art. It's more like me just spraying random shit everywhere and hoping for the best.

"Ha! It's still better than what I can do!"

Sunset let out a silent giggle, bringing her hand to cover her mouth.

I'm sure you're a good artist Grandma. She signed, letting a out another silent giggle.

"That's Elder to you, rogue," a harsh hissed.

Sunset rolled her eyes, staring at the man in front of her.

It was the alpha of the pack she was currently living in. He was a grade A asshole from the moment she met him.

He was tall, towering over her. She was pretty sure he was at least six feet tall. Sunset guessed he was handsome, though, she didn't really care so she couldn't really tell. Sunset would guess that he was above average at most. He was somewhat muscular and had walnut brown skin. He had black hair styled in a temple fade along with blue eyes. She thinks he's in his early to mid twenties, though, he probably was older.

He snarled at her before growling, "Did you just roll your eyes at me?"

Yeah.

He glared at he before lurching at her. She flinched, bringing her hands up to protect her face. She closed her eyes, waiting for the impact that never came. She waited a few seconds before opening her eyes to see Grandma shooting out of her chair and grabbing him by his ear, pulling him towards her. Sunset let out a snicker, watching as Grandma scolded him.

"I did not just see you trynna attack a traumatized fifteen years old girl! Listen here young man! I did not raise you to be like this! You are twenty three! You are not only a grown ass man, you are the alpha of the pack!"

He growled before pulling himself away, clutching his ear.

"That wolf is a rogue, a criminal! She is a danger to the pack, who knows how many people she's hurt!"

The fuck kinda childish, old school logic is this? Sunset crossed her arms, glaring at him. I know an alpha younger than me that understands rogues better than that. And plus, everyone knows exiling criminals is an old school tactic, it's much better in the long run to simply kill them.

"She is a child! A child who was forced to become a rogue by hunters! You know full well what those wretched hunters are capable of!"

Sunset nodded, agreeing with whatever incident Grandma was talking about.

"That's different! We know absolutely nothing about her! She could be lying! That's probably why she doesn't speak, so that we won't be able to tell if she's lying!"

Before Grandma could argue, Sunset brought a finger up to silence her. She let out a sigh, yawning to reveal the inside of her mouth. She pointed at her lack of tongue, giving him the most "deadpanned" expression she could muster.

She stared at his shocked face in satisfaction, closing her mouth as she allowed herself to smile slightly.

Turns out it's pretty hard to talk without a tongue.

Grandma looked at her, her features softening before saying, "Oh child, you didn't hafta do that."

She walked towards her, laying a hand on her shoulder.

It's fine. And plus, I'm sure I've been overstaying my welcome. I've had a wonderful time here and I feel like I should leave now.

"Child, you don't hafta go! It's dangerous! It's much safer with a pack."

Eh, I've been meaning to leave for a while. Don't worry, I'll write whenever I can. Just don't get rid of my drawings.

Sunset hugged Grandma tightly, flipping the alpha off before strutting out the door.
