Jacob's

I watched as Mystic went up the stairs to shower, before grabbing a neon, yellow sticky note stuck to the stairs.

Mystic reminds me a lot of her.

I looked down at the sticky note before quietly reading it out loud.

We have a meeting with Star Keeper pack. We'll be back by tomorrow morning. Don't break anything.

P.S - There's no more food in the fridge so go hunt stuff.
~Your amazing mother

I let out a chuckle before throwing the sticky note into the garbage.

I looked upstairs, staring at the bathroom door.

Guess I'll have to get some supplies.

I went back to the wilderness, seeing what I'll catch this Rhine.

I returned home a few hours later with a bag of fruits and a dead deer hung over my left shoulder. I left the deer on the front porch and went inside to stock the fridge with fruits. I scanned the living room, seeing that Mystic wasn't there.

She must be tired.

I mean, she did spend an hour trying to catch a rabbit. My wolf said. And who knows how long it's been since she had a good rest?

True. And have you seen the wound on her neck? Once I met the hunters who did that, I'll rip their limbs off one by one.

My wolf growled in agreement. Let's also burn their neck the same way they did to her. A pup should never have to go through that!

I nodded before going back out to prepare the deer.

It was evening by the time I got inside and Mystic seemed to still be sleeping. I put all of the deer meat in the freezer before going to the shower to wash all the blood off of me.

I went out before stopping in my tracks, my head immediately turning to the spare bedroom.

Whimpering. Quiet whimpering could be heard coming from it with my werewolf hearing.

Instinctively, I ran to the bedroom and opened the door as fast as I could. I rushed to her side as I saw her curled up in the fetal position, kicking her legs randomly. She faced the window to my left. She was on top of the sheets, not even covering herself with the blanket. It seemed she had shifted into a pair of pajamas. She wore a yellow shirt that had a bee landing on a flower and wore long pants with dandelions all over it.

My nose quickly filled with her delicate scent, as if to remind me about how fragile she is. She had a soft, fruity and cakey scent, as expected of a regular pup. Completely different from a full blooded alpha pup. Unlike most pups though, her scent had a slight disturbance to it, almost as if it was struggling to even make an appearance. Almost as if, something was trying to stop her from releasing a scent.

I gently picked her up before laying her on her back and covering her with the blanket. As I stepped away from the bed, she suddenly grabbed my hand, murmuring.

"Please... t hurt them... hurt me inst... run... mommy." Tears slowly traced her cheeks as she cried slightly.

I grimaced, slowly petting her head.
