So sorry this is so late! I have a crap ton of projects to do for school and finals happened.
"T-They were murdered by hunters," I hissed, shifting as I stepped towards her.
Her face fell immediately. She cupped her hands around her mouth, gasping. She slowly brought her hands down, her mouth still wide open before staring at Jacob.
She runs to his sides and envelopes him in a hug.
I clenched my fist as I watched Jacob rest his head on her shoulder, shaking slightly.
"I AM so sorry. I-I didn't know. Oh, Jacob. I am so sorry." She rubbed the back of his head and held him tightly.
I could see tears streaming down Jacob's snout, his ears flicking downwards. He let out a shuddered breath, repeatedly opening and closing his mouth. He let out a whimper, burying his face deport in her shoulder. Eleanor let out a hum in response, rubbing circles into his back.
I grabbed Sunset's hand and squeezed, wiping my eyes with the other. I rested my head on her shoulder, clenching my teeth together as my tail wrapped around my leg. I turned to stare at Eli as I sniffled, watching him wonder towards Eleanor's daughter.
Eleanor's daughter sat up, tilting her head as she watched Eli. Eli crouched down in front of her before putting his hand out for her to sniff. She sniffed his hands a few times before placing her hand on his palm and rubbing herself.
The corner of my lips curled upwards slightly as I watched their interaction.
Sunset tapped my shoulder with her other hand. I turned to her to see her pointing at my hand. I immediately let go.
He's here. The scent earlier was definitely his.
My ears perked up at that, smiling widely as I felt my tail start wagging.
I could feel my wolf running wild. Jumping and running around my mind. To say we were happy would be an understatement.
I quickly calmed myself down though and whispered, "Does he smell hurt to you?"
I really should tell them that I lost my sense of smell lol.
My wolf let out a scoff, barking something that sounded suspiciously like "obviously."
Oh come on! It's not my fault I keep forgetting. It's just that a bunch of things have been happening and I didn't really have the time to tell them.
My wolf let out a sigh before mentally nudging my hand.
I let out a sigh. Yeah, you're right. I could tell them now.
No, but we can't be too sure. My nose is kinda stuffy from being slightly frozen yesterday.
"Ah, same."
I mentally hit myself.
You idiot! That was the perfect time to tell her! Oh why am I like this?
Suddenly, two arms wrapped me and Sunset into a tight hug as we felt a head appear between us.
Eleanor hugged us tightly, resting her head between our shoulders.
"You poor poor pups... to think that such a horrible thing was allowed to happen to you. I'm so so sorry." She said, chocking back another sob.
I hugged back, leaning my head against her shoulder.
I turned slightly to my left to see that Sunset was doing the same. Though, her eyes were closed tightly and I could see droplets of ink threatening to break out.
Eleanor released us, brushed the ink from Sunset's eyes.
"Not too long ago, I had picked up a pup that went through what you two had to go through. I-I don't know if you know her, but in case you do, she's through that tunnel over there." She said, pointing to her right. "There are multiple little cave rooms. She should be the first to the left. And please be careful with her, she's currently healing from a broken leg."
I could feel the need to correct her on the tip of my tongue. However, I had more important things to do so I bit my tongue.
"Thank you," I repeated as Sunset also signed her thanks repeatedly.
Eleanor smiles softly and started brushing the hair away form our faces.
"You don't have to thank me. Now go, I'm sure your friend is waiting for you."
I immediately started running through the tunnel before immediately slamming a black door open.
I could feel my heart beating rapidly though my chest as I scanned the cave-room thingy.
The cave was quite homey and warm. There were orange and yellow fairy lights hanging all around the ceiling like stars. And right across from the door was a pile of moss. And on top of the moss was a pink pup covered in heart-shaped fur patterns.
We stared at each for a solid second before I screamed.
"LOVE!"
Bright yellow flashed through my mind as I ran towards him.
Joy.
I quickly slowed myself down, remembering what Eleanor said.
I smiled widely, my fangs showing as walked towards him. Love wagged his tail happily as he tried to get up.
I hugged him tightly, resting my face into his fur as I carried tears of joy.
"Your alive," I whispered into his fur.
He nodded, burying his head into my should as he nuzzled my neck. I grabbed onto him tightly. I could feel both of our tails vibrating the ground from how hard we were wagging. I could also feel Sunset's footsteps as she entered the room and collapsed by my side, hugging Love.
I lifted my head up to glance at his legs. Luckily, it seemed that only one of his back legs were broken.
