It's been another week since I've been stuck here. After finding out that my anemia could be treated, Cecillus immediately got Marvin to treat me. Although I'm still going through treatment, I've already gained more stamina.

Unfortunately, Cecillus, not wanting me to be completely defenseless, decided to train me. At least I'll be able to rely on skill and not just my instinct. I also get to train with Jacob so that's pretty nice.

I ducked, narrowly dodging they punch that was grown my way. I quickly jumped up as a kick was swung towards my legs. I jumped back as I kept dodging his attacks.

"Will you stop dodging! It's annoying!" Jacob growled as he launched himself towards me in his wolf form.

I let out giggle as I ducked once again, this time shifting into my wolf form. We let out a teasing yelp, prancing triumphantly as Jacob fell head first into the dirt.

A bright vibrant blue with a sunburst of yellow in the middle appeared in my mind.

Confident and Cocky.

Just a few seconds longer, and I'll be able to win this match! I smirked as I shifted back.

I jumped back once again as Jacob tried to pounce on me.

"And it looks like I'm the w—YELP!" I yelped in surprise as I started falling backwards.

I tripped over a rock, twisting my left foot as I waved my arms around to maintain my balance. Failing, I did a quick roll and landed on my back, not before hitting the back of my head onto a tree.

A salmon color shot through my mind, following the rhythm of the throbbing in my head.

Pain.

Owie... that hurts. A lot. I sat up, rubbing my the back of my head and my ankle. Why the heck is there a tree so close to the training ground?! I don't care if we're in the middle of the forest, but I know for a fact that that tree wasn't there yesterday!

"Are you okay?" Jacob asked as he quickly put on some pants and walked over to me.

"No, I twisted my ankle and now it hurts. I also rammed my head into a tree and I'm kinda dizzy."

"Can you walk? I can carry you if you want."

I started to get up, not before hissing in pain as I planted my left foot on the ground.

Jacob kneeled onto the ground so that I could get onto his back. Carrying me piggyback style, we walked backed to the house.

"Maybe if you weren't so cocky, you wouldn't have gotten hurt?" He said playfully, sticking his tongue at me.

"Oh shut up! I was finally able to last the whole five minutes! And I actually beat you!" I joked back.

Once we got to the house, I chirped to alarm Diana of our presence. I looked around to see no one. Cecillus had left the morning before and Diana had stayed home. I knew for a fact that Diana hadn't left to go hunting since the training grounds and hunting grounds are right next to each other.

Jacob plopped me on the couch and went to go get me an ice pack. I let out another chirp, hoping Diana would hear me this time.

Hearing nothing, I exclaimed, "Hey Diana! I hit my head onto a tree and now I'm bleeding! It really hurts!"

Suddenly, I heard the loud thumping of footsteps from upstairs. I looked up to see Diana lunching herself from the rails and landing behind the couch.

"OH MY GOD WHERE?" She screamed, making me wince slightly.

That probably didn't help me at all. That might've made my potential concussion worse. I thought to myself as my wolf whined internally.

She gently grabbed me by the cheeks and moved my head around as she scammed for injuries.

"I lied. I'm not bleeding but I think I have a concussion. I hit my head pretty hard and I also twisted my ankle. Good news is that my ankle doesn't hurt as much! Bad news is that my head hurts a lot more now."

I looked through the corners of my eyes as Jacob stood by my legs awkwardly. Making eye contact with me, he placed the bag on top of my ankle and slowly backed away.

"You need to be a lot more careful! You can take a break from training for a few days. Concussion are very serious and should not be taken lightly! And next time, don't lie. I might make your concussion worse by yelling!" She whispered-yelled. "It doesn't seem too serious or else you would've been crying by now, but please rest. I'll tell Cecillus so that he doesn't make you train when he gets back. Anyways, stay here and rest. If you need anything, just shout and Jacob will help you."

"Wait, why do I have to do it? You're the adult!" Jacob exclaimed softly.

"Because I said so and because I have information to sort." Diana said before running back upstairs and leaving me alone with Jacob.

"So, I guess you're my butler now."

"Yup."

"And that means you have to do whatever I say?"

"Unfortunately, yes."

"Nice. Can you get me a bag of chips then? I want the salt and vinegar ones!"

A few days have past and I made a full recovery thanks to my genes.

I pulled Jacob out of the house, eager to stretch my legs after days of lying in bed and doing nothing.

"C'mon! Let's go! I wanna go for a run! Ooh, let's see who's the first one to reach the big willow tree! The winner gets the last pie slice!" I shouted excitedly as I shifted and started circling him.

My wolf barked at him impatiently, before jumping back and pouncing around. She wagged her tail happily as Jacob shifted too. She ran up to his wolf and started licking his snout before falling to the ground a rolling around his feet. Jacob's wolf rubbed his head against hers and rolled down next to her.

Suddenly, she sprinted forward, smirking as she looked back to see Jacob's look of betrayal. She let out a happy yup as she saw Jacob chase after her.

We ran through the forest, jumping over fallen logs and hopping on rocks.

My wolf smiled as we saw the leaves of the willow tree. She slowed down a little bit for Jacob to catch up before sprinting forward. She ran towards the tree before stopping immediately.

There, at the base of the trunk, was the body of a three year old.
