V3 Chapter 2.9

6 Purpose of living -Chise-

To me, that is my purpose of living.

It has been four days since our beloved human, Rhonya, was attacked by the demon. Three more days until the side effects of the recovery magic casted on her would make her stay in a daze.

Ever since our first meeting, Rhonya was an airhead, or should I say, dense, defenseless that is. I thought I had to protect her.

But based on what the spirits and the mythical beast, Laclain said, she is extremely strong. It seems she has overwhelming strength to face off an entire army of demonic monsters led by the demon.

Even if they said so, I don't get it just from their words alone. And my imagination ain't that great to start with.

It made me want to see how Rhonya fights.

But, there is a part of me which did not want to know about it either. Anyways, I know that she has overwhelming strength. That felt enough for me.

To me, Rhonya is a nonchalant person, loved by the spirits, demis and the townspeople as well, a good cook, and a person I definitely want to protect.

It was not necessary to ask how Rhonya had lived her life before. Her past, her identity, if she wants to talk about it then I will gladly listen to her. But I don't think that is what Rhonya wants to talk about.

I look towards Rhonya who is sleeping soundly on the sofa at the lounge. Just like yesterday, she is currently taking a midday nap with all of us, but Rhonya showed no signs of waking up. Ryuse was in charge of guarding her yesterday, and he did say she did not wake up until night fell, so it will probably happen again today.

I am in charge of guarding her today. The others are preparing to depart to work.

"Her skin, I wanna lickkkk," Ryuse sat down just beside the sofa where Rhonya is sleeping, and peeked at her face.

"I'm so sure it's gonna taste sweet." (Ryuse)

It's true that we instinctively want to lick a human's skin. Our instinct tells us to ascertain the sensation of their skin with our tongue, and tingles us to that desire somehow.

"Even though I'm saying such things right beside her, Rhonya really is defenseless huh."

She'd never thought about being attacked, I'm sure.

"That's the proof of her trust towards us," said Sena, while his hand spun the doorknob.

"Isn't she just too dense to notice how danger may be falling onto her?"

"....It's trust, I tell you," although there was a gap, Sena cut off my sentence while Ryuse warned me, 'Don't even try thinking of licking her'.

Just then, I remembered something.

"Shize licked Rhonya once right... on her cheek?"

"For real!? That's dirty Shize! When was that!? Not the night you brought her home right?! RIGHT?!"

Ryuse was fussing over it, and started chasing after Sena and Shize who exited the room. A numbing sound could be heard afterwards, so I guess Shize shut him up.

Now I'm just alone together with Rhonya.

So boreeed-, as I thought and swayed my tail left and right. Should I ask Rhonya for a sword spar after she wakes up? She's free too, so that won't be a problem right?

Will she wake up soon~? As I stare at Rhonya's sleeping face.

What a beautiful woman. And not only just her appearance. That's why I love her.
