V3 Chapter 3.1

Chapter 3 打ち明ける <To confess to about something>

1 Forgetful person

The fifth morning after getting caught in the trap set by the Demon, it was a harmonious day.

After enjoying breakfast with the members of the DemiMercSquad and cleaning up the place to make it refreshing, we took a leisurely nap.

I was still quick to doze off, but I was able to see everyone's napping face during nap time.

Sleeping on the opposite sofa is the green jackal, Sena-san. He was sleeping while hugging the book he had been reading before falling asleep. His puffy and voluminous tail could not fit the sofa wholly, and hung down the floor.

Nearby him was the blue wolf, Chise-san, sleeping on the floor with his arms and legs spread wide. We frolicked hard last night. His freshly washed mofumofu has gone up another level. Being able to brush that mofumofu was an exceptional pleasant feeling. I would love to do it again.

The white cheetah, Ryuse-san, brought a sofa to my side and was currently sleeping while curled up. The distance to his long and slender puffy swaying white tail could be grasped within my arm's length, which made me want to catch it.

And, just beneath the sofa I was lying down on, was the jet black lion Shize, who was sleeping on his side. His mane was right in front of my eyes, enticing me to touch it. If possible, I hoped to bury my face one more time in that mane. But if I did that, we would have woken up, so I held myself back and dozed off.

I woke up to the voices of people talking. Ever since I was allowed to dwell in this mansion, I hadn't been able to see off the DemiMercSquad to work. I resolved myself to do so today, hence I quickly woke myself up.

"That was shocking- what's wrong, Ojou?" As I tried to get up from the sofa, Ryuse-san looked at me and smiled.

"I thought of seeing you off to work..."

"It's fine, you don't need to be so reserved," replied Sena-san, who was reading his book.

It seems Sena-san was in charge of guarding me for today. I headed to the front door with Sena-san and Sez, and saw off the others going to work.

"Please be careful lest you get hurt. Have a safe tri.p"

"We're departing-"

"...We'll be back."

"Yaw."

Ryuse-san, Shize-san and Chise-san replied, and went off to work.

While I was seeing them off with a smile, a guest came over.

"Hey, good evening. Off to work? Have a safe trip-" as he appeared and said.

It was the Baron, the fief lord of this town.

"It's the Baron. What do you want?" Ryuse-san asked rudely, where Baron Leiss shrugged his shoulder.

"How cold of you, Ryuse-kun. I have something to talk about with Lady Rhonya here, so I came to see her. Is that alright?"

Something to talk to me- I turned nervous after hearing it. Suddenly, the side effects of the recovery magic heightened and I was attacked by a surge of drowsiness. To calm myself down, I made a smile.

"I would not mind, but..."

"Would having the conversation with just the two of us be alright?" He looked to Sena-san for permission, where Sena-san deliberated and made a decision.

"...You can talk in the lounge. I'll wait in my room."

After seeing Sena-san going back to his room, the Baron approached Shize.
