"Amy?" I asked, resisting the urge to tug at my eyelashes. "What's wrong?"

I hadn't seen her in a long time. Her curly, short brown hair was now straight and up to her elbow. Her facial features had sharpened and she had gotten skinnier. She looked just like her mother, with a big nose and small lips that were perfect together. However, today her lips were chapped and her face was pale. She was also panting as if she ran a marathon.

"Isawtheneverseenandtheniranshnandtheni--"Amy explained too fast while trying to catch her breath.

"Whoa... Amy, slow down," I told her.

"It's the Neverseen," she exhaled, "I saw someone in a black cloak about 6 blocks away from our house. I was with my friends and we were gonna go get some ice cream"

"What happened?" I asked, giving into the old habit and tugging those itchy lashes.

"Well when I saw them, I started running back to my house. My friends probably thought I was some crazy lunatic, but yeah," I opened my mouth, "And before you ask, no, I didn't see the white eye on their sleeve. I wasn't paying attention to that. I just wanted to get as far away from them as possible. Anyway, when he saw me running the other direction, he started running after me. I ran as fast as I could back to our house and locked all the doors and windows. And then I called you. Mom and Dad were really worried. But I used the same excuse you used when Fitz found you," she explained with a small smile tugging at the corners of her mouth.

"Oh yeah, how is it going with Fitz?" she asked, wiggling her eyebrows.

"Ummm... it's not. But that's not what we're talking about."

"Well, what about Keefe? Anything going on with him," she insisted, wiggling her eyebrows once again.

I looked at my feet and pulled my hair in front of my eyes, trying not to let Amy see the tears emerging.

"Oh no. What did he do now? Did he confess his secret, not so secret crush on you? Or did he do something even more serious?"

Ignoring that last comment, I hesitated before I told her. But it all came rushing back and I couldn't stop. Amy was such a good listener. I told her every detail about what happened with Keefe and didn't leave anything out. By the time I was done, we were both in tears.

"I'm so sorry," Amy whispered, "If there's anything I can for you then please tell me. You may not be my actual sister but I still care about you alot. I can't stand watching you in this fragile state. I need the real Sophie back. My sister Sophie. The sister who never backs down from a challenge and who'll always do what's right no matter what. The sister who will help others in need no matter the consequences. That is who you are Sophie. And you can't let some idiot like Keefe stand in the way of you being you. Because you are amazing Sophie. I think sometimes you forget that. And right now, it's my job to remind you how awesome you are. Because you are. And you always will be." I wiped the newly appeared tears that came from the beautiful sentiment. I fought to blink back the others. I decided it was time for a major subject change.

"Anyway, is there anything else you noticed when you saw the guy in the cloak?" I asked.

"No, I don't think so-- AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH." A scream cut her off. It was Amy's scream. And then, the screen. Went. Black.
