The days went by, just like that. Only four days left till the epic showdown. All the boys were gathered in their room. We tried to elaborate on our plan and fill in the holes but we had our base and that was enough. I was feeling pretty confident about it. We were going to send Biana, Dex, Fitz, Tam, and Linh. Sophie was going to pick Tam and Linh up today since she could teleport them here. Speaking of Sophie, I was honestly really glad she was coming with me. I haven't told anyone this but ever since... let's call it "ran away", I've been having nightmares. And usually that was normal but these nightmares... they were 100x worse. All of them included my mom and her hurting my friends somehow. But there was one.. one that stood out to me. Mommy Dearest was in it but Sophie was standing next to her, cackling. She had a sopordine gun and it was pointed at me. I begged and begged her to drop it but Sophie simply laughed. She cackled one more time looking at Lady Gisela, and pulled the trigger as a searing pain in my chest exploded. I had to stop that from happening. At all costs. And it may be silly, after all it was just a dream. But even if there was the slightest chance that Sophie could turn, that my mom could make the greatest person with the purest of hearts turn to the Neverseen, I wanted to be there to stop it.
The door swung open, "Hey, I'm going to pick up Tam and Linh now," Sophie said.
"Okay, come back quick. Oh yeah, before you go, I want you to take someone with you," Grady said.
"Keefe, wanna come?" Sophie asked. I grinned and nodded my head. Grady rolled his eyes and scowled at me. Fitz gave me a deeper scowl and turned his head away. We all knew there was major Fitzphie drama going on but no one acknowledged it. And I think that worked well for everyone.
"Shall we?"Sophie said her arms hooked. I nodded linking my arms with her's. Sophie closed her eyes. The next thing I knew I was traveling through the void and in Solreef where Tam and Linh were waiting.
"Hey guys," Sophie said, trying to lighten up the mood as Tam pulled his stupid bangs in front of his face and tears glistened in Linh's eyes.
"You're back," she whispered.
"Yep, you missed me that much? Wow, didn't know I was so loved around here," I joked with a smirk, deciding it was worth the risk.
"Yes, Keefe we did. We missed you so much," Linh said running to as she tackle-hugged me. The most surprising thing was when Tam joined in.
"I'm sorry," Tam whispered. "It's all my fault isn't it? Your dangerous ability, you running away--"
"No, Tam it's not. It's my mom's so don't even try to blame yourself. You know how dangerous that is," I replied. "And don't forget... your bangs are stupid and I will never stop making fun of them."
Tam chuckled, "Glad to have you back."
"Sorry to ruin the moment but we really gotta go," Sophie reminded stretching the "go".
"Right, let's go. " I said. We joined hands and we were back to the boring hotel room.
And again, the days went by just like that. With all the planning and the planning of battle strategy, we were kept occupied.
Three days.
Two days.
One day.
The day of.
"Is everyone ready to go?" Sophie asked. She seemed more confident than normal. I could understand though. We planned for literally every scenario. It was by far our most thought out plan.
"Yep," everyone said unanimously.
"Let's go over the plan again," Amy said.
"Keefe and I will head over to Ross Alley. We'll give Lady Gisela an Imparter call. She probably won't answer but she'll be able to trace the signal and recognize it was us. The rest of you go to my family's house and bring them to Havenfield with your leaping crystal as safely as possible. If Neverseen members are there send one group to Havenfield and the rest try to take them hostage."
"Got it," Everyone said.
"I'll see you guys tonight," I said in a somber voice. All everyone could do was nod. We all got into a giant group hug, just like we always did. And then we went our separate ways.
Sophie and I walked silently to Ross Alley. We called my dearest mother and of course, she didn't pick up, which was expected and all part of our plan. We waited five minutes, ten minutes, fifteen minutes.
"Why isn't anyone here yet?" Sophie thank aloud. Suddenly, her Imparter started buzzing. She held it up. "Hello?"
"Yeah, Sophie? They aren't here." Fitz said over the Imparter.
"WHAT?!" Sophie and I both said at the same time. "They're not here either." Right then, I spotted a glowing spot that was growing bigger by the second.
"Oh my god it's a leaping crystal," I mumbled. "OH MY GOD, IT'S A LEAPING CRYSTAL. Guys, get over here right now! It's Ross Valley."
"What wh--"
"Just do it!"
At the next second, both the Neverseen and the rest of our gang came. Who I assumed was Ruy raised his arms to trap us in a force field but Tam sent a shadow spear at them and they started writhing in pain. Sophie inflicted on them and they started clutching their heads so hard that their hoods fell off. There were two new members. They looked familiar but I couldn't place exactly where I remember them from. But Sophie recognized them. She stumbled backwards gasping, her mouth gaping. Amy had tears streaming down her face and she started sobbing.
She sobbed so much that she barely made out the words, "Mom? Dad?"
