"Who are you? Get off me!" I yelled, thrashing and flailing. The person had a hand covered over my mouth. He was wearing a black cloak but I couldn't see if the symbol of the Neverseen was there. He turned off my emergency imparter. And he had an EXTREMELY firm grip. No matter how hard I tried to pry his hand off, it wouldn't budge.

"I know you're from the Neverseen," I yelled, my voice muffled. I braced myself for extreme pain. But instead... the grip loosened. He took his hand off my mouth and I turned to face him. I couldn't see his face. His cloak's hood covered it. I reached to pull off the hood, but the man stopped me. He put his fingers to his lips, signaling to be quiet. Wait, what if he was a telepath? I stayed quiet but let my mind go dark. He didn't seem to notice. Okay... so he's not a telepath. But he didn't seem ruthless. He seemed... almost scared. He kept looking around as if he was expecting something to jump out at them. I decided to take a risk.

"Who are you?" I whispered again as gently as I could.

He hesitated. "I can't tell you. I'm sorry," he whispered.

"Well at least tell me why you're whispering," I said.

"I... can't tell you that either," he said apologetically.

My teeth were grinding together, fists clenched. My fury directed at him. "Why not?" I snapped.

"I...I-"

I took the opportunity and pulled off his hood.

My jaw dropped. Never would I have guessed who was standing there before me.

"Keefe?"
