Shoot. I'm busted. And I'm forced to talk. At least in elfy world I could use the excuse of my stupid ability to get out of explaining stupid stuff. But, Mommy Dearest just had to make the ability work around humans. Let's just say I learned that the hard way. Anyway, Amy looked like she was expecting me to talk so I did. And it did not turn out well.

"Hey?"

She slapped me. She slapped me over and over again until my cheeks were red and her palms had blisters and rashes covering the sea of lines. Not that I was expecting something better. But it still hurt. Alot.

"What was that for?" I asked.

"Oh, you're asking me what that was for? Just that you ran off without telling anyone, broke everyone's hearts and even when they went looking for you, you didn't even show up," Amy argued. But then tears streamed down her face and she tackle-hugged me, as wetness soaked my shoulder. "I know and I'm sorry. But it's for the best," I said.

"I'm just glad you're back," she whispered. "Well now we have to tell Sophie. She's missed you so much, you know." She wiped her eyes and reached for the imparter but I grabbed her hand.

"We can't tell Sophie," I told her.

"Why not?" she countered.

"Do you see how much danger she'll be if she tries to find me again? All I've done is hurt everyone. Especially Sophie. It's better for everyone that way," I said quietly.

"You know I can't keep something this big from her," Amy argued.

"I know. But if you won't do it for me then do it for Sophie. Let her be happy. I'm just trying to protect her. Please Amy," I pleaded.

She closed her eyes and took deep breaths. After a second she said, "Okay. Fine. I won't tell her. But I have one question," she continued, "Why are you here?"

I chuckled. "I was hoping you wouldn't ask that. So... I need a place to stay. I've been on the streets up till now but they kicked me out. It's not my fault they can't handle getting pranked! So I was wondering if I could stay here?" I asked.

"Okay. First of all, what the heck am I gonna tell my parents if you stay here? Second of all, I know that's not the only reason why you need to stay here," Amy pressed.

"For your first question: You don't tell them. I'm skinny. I can be in your closet and you can pass me food secretly. No one has to know. After living on the streets I've learned to adapt. And for your second question: You're right. That's not the only reason. But I can't tell you. At least not yet," I answered

Amy crossed her arms and pouted with big beady eyes and her lip falling towards her chin.

"You know, you look just like Sophie when you do that. All adorable," I said.

"Stop trying to change the subject. You like making deals right? How about I'll let you live here if, and only if, you tell me the real reason why you're here. I'll give you 30 seconds to decide or else deal's off," Amy decided.

"Wow, you're really starting to sound like Mommy Dearest right now," I said.

"Twenty-four seconds" she reminded me.

"Come on, Amy. You love me! How about I'll make you a counter offer. I'll tell you the secret to my awesome hair," I countered with my famous smirk.

"Seven seconds," she says, "Five, four, three, two--"

"Okay fine! Deal!" I said hastily.

Amy flashed a smug smile and cocked her head. And she stole my smirk! She did it even better than I did.

"Well? What are you waiting for? Tell me," Amy demanded.

I began to explain. "You saw me near your house right?" Amy gasped, "Yup I was the one in the black cloak. And the reason I was there was because I saw someone from the Neverseen by your house earlier that week. I went to see if he was still there but he wasn't. And then when I came here to you, I swear I saw him again in the window of the house next door. So, I need to protect you."

"So what are you saying?" Amy asked.

"I'm saying that your neighbor could be part of the Neverseen."
